  1. Somebody told me if I plan to do clubs later on I should buy external soundcard rather than buying a in built one in the mixer. Also will something like this work? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-2-0-7-1c ... e49&_uhb=1 OR http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-2-0-Audi ... 0b7&_uhb=1
  2. Ok my bad, thanks for that mitch!
  3. Hm... just found Lemur for ipad, similar thing. Who cares this one is a lot cheaper than Lemur.
  4. Found this program not long ago. It's basically a customizable iPad midi controller. Takes a bit of time to get used to and setup, but once you're done works suprisingly well. Here are a few links: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2012/07/ho ... -touchosc/ Here is one of my setups, nothing special just a couple cue and cue set buttons as well as start button.
  5. If I buy a mixtrack, not the pro version. The one without soundcard. Can I output audio from my mac and then the headphone cue from the mixtrack. Or have I got it all wrong?
  6. I got a suggestion from one of the forum members to upload my mix to be critiqued. http://soundcloud.com/sunturday/practice-mix1 http://soundcloud.com/sunturday/bangarang-album-mix Unfortunately I pressed sync for each song since I couldn't beatmatch them fast enough... Throw everything you got at me!!!
  7. hmmmmm....sumthin wrong with yer links... but anyway: Your transitions will always sound obvious to you because you know exactly what is about to happen. Other DJs transitions will sound more surprising to you because what comes next is always unknown. If I understand what you are trying to achieve (and assuming this isnt a troll thread) then the only advice I can offer is: Choose songs with bigger breaks or drops. Mix them so you know that at the end of the transition you are fading over to the tune about to drop. That way each transition ends in a drop, break or at least a recognisable hook from a song. and as eggs said: post a really bad one for really good advice. Yeah I guess something's wrong with it, tried fixing already. Didn't work... Actually I think you are right, I should know when there are transitions. Not a troll thread. Good advice on that last bit, I've never thought of it that way. Thanks!
  8. Ok thank you everybody for your support. Over the next few days I will try to produce a quality mix and hopefully share it with you.
  9. Well in my opinion my transitions are a little bit too obvious. For example if you take a look at skrillex transitions: Or even Tiesto:
  10. These are just some of the transitions that I have attempted.
  11. https://soundcloud.com/sunturday/practice-transition-4 https://soundcloud.com/sunturday/practice-transition-2 I know it's bad, hence I really need some advice.
  12. I can upload a mix if anybody wants to help me out and point out what I am doing wrong.
  13. I've got a vestax spin and macbook air. I am using djay program.
  14. English please? Do you mean the EQ?
  15. Sorry I forgot to add the beat matching part. I meant similar so when I change the bpm the key says the same and doesn't change too much.
  16. Hi! I have been getting back into DJing for the past few days, buy buying new tracks and trying out some mixes. Unfortunately I can never get a smooth transition. I do the usual, meaning: 1. Have track playing deck 1. 2. Pick a track in mixable key according to Camelot wheel, and similar bpm. 3. Load the track onto deck 2 and cue it up on the first beat. 4. Wait until track on deck 1 gets to the ending. 5. Play deck 2. 6. Mix using the upfaders. Never works out. I really need some advice on getting a smooth transition.
  17. I am in the process of buying some tracks and I am sometimes having trouble deciding which track is better, the vocal edit, or the instrumental edit. With some tracks it's easy to chose, but some are just as good with vocals as without.
  18. Ayy thanks guys, works like a charm!
  19. 13 inch one: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP631
  20. I have a macbook air, but I see many people around here have pros. Would my DJing be affected if I do not use a pro? I'm picking up my vestax spin tonight so I just need some advice. - Cheers
  21. What about house parties, do you need a license for that?
  22. I've been looking through deadmau5 albums, and some say they are mixed. Is this the standard practice with dance music CDs? How can I get an unmixed version?
  23. Alright cheers! I'll just wait until a used one pops up on eBay.
  24. Does any of these have an integrated sound card? Because thats what I need and I don't have the money to buy one.
