  1. yes, definately.... I wish someone could show me how to pull this off every time
  2. yeah, easy to write in big letters so you can clearly see whats on there. If you're not nervous, you're not concentrating IMO just play what people want to hear, everything else will fall into place. how long is your set?
  3. what this guy says
  4. curious to know if this is still for sale?
  5. yeah just got an ATH-PRO700 GD from audio technica from the fam, feel more base from these than my speakers. Not the best DJ headphones but way better than my sony ear buds . My budy has also sold me his speaker/amp set. Not gig quality either but i figured i had a few months of practice ahead of me before i actually get good enough to worry about what im bringing to gigs besides my decks. As for music, i got heaps just from acquiring them over the years. Spitfire, that is a good idea, but gonna wait i think until i want to get to that point where i can actually manage 4 decks at once DNS 3700's though is probably where im gonna start. are you kidding? they are awesome headphones! anyway, if you've got music and speakers get the dns3700 pack from dj warehouse. it's just under $3k and you'll have everything you need.
  6. as the little suggests: 2 x denon dns1000's - come with boxes cables etc, and are in very good condition. These are awesome little units. $600 for the pair 1 x stanton ST120 - Same motor as the st150! comes fully loaded with slip mat. Has a decent scratch on the top front corner, but in otherwise perfect condition. Still under warranty. $350 I'm located in sydney's south, and all items are pick up only. reply here/ pm/ email me: egb16a@hotmail.com cheers Lloyd
  7. have you budgeted for good headphones and speakers? some $$ left over for tunes?
  8. i think so... well at least you used to be able to.
  9. oh i see. $100 doesnt seem too bad for a 32gig memory stick. but yeh, there are other ways to spend $100 thats for sure $100 is fine for 32gig, but I recon i'd out grow it fairly quickly... which means i'd be looking at 64gig sticks... $200 x 3 = a lot of songs on beatport and a number of blank cd spindals
  10. I'd be using memory sticks, but it would mean i'd have to purchase 3 (two for normal use and one back up).... from what i can gather, decent memory sticks are ~$100 for 32gig and $200+ for 64 gig.... so did a lot of other disappointed customers... the dlink is to share track info and PS2 keyboard by the sound of things
  11. I think my only issue with these decks is that you need one USB device per deck IE. it won't share a single memory stick like the CDJ900/2000... but I think i'll be burning CDs for some time anyway.
  12. yeah, the brand new thing is a massive plus... just gotta save the cash and sell the existing equipment I guess. It might mean being without decks for a few weeks though
  13. I'm looking at upgrading my decks soon, and considering the denon DN-S3700 as an option. I'd just like to know people's experiences and opinions with these CD players. My other option is to buy a second hand pair of CDJ1000's for similar money, since they have similar features (minus the USB part). cheers Lloyd
  14. Thanks for the warm welcomes. I live in connells point, which is between blakehurst and hurstville. The music collection (small, but growing) consists mainly of house, in all its wonderful forms, with a handfull of breaks. I try not to tie myself down to a certain genre though, i'm into anything that sounds good.
  15. Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Lloyd and i'm from the southern suburbs of sydney. I've been into mixing for quite some time now, but only really gotten serious about it in the last 6-9 months. In this time, i've basically done some house parties at friends places and learned a whole bunch of stuff in the process. I'm looking forward to talking to people on these forums, everyone seems friendly and helpful. Anyway, thats my basic story. cheers
