  1. i used them at an engagement party the other day as a last resort. There was probably around 100 people there and they were fine for the party. I had them on about 1/4 volume, and it was enough for some music at this particular party. I have no doubt that they would be sweet for a proper house party, but you'd probably want a sub for some lower end. If you were using them every week for parties, then look for some PA speakers like JBL eons or something
  2. part of you is needing 3 extra jobs then lol nah, just save up and possibly sell my existing mixer.... or hopefully santa is feeling stupid generous this year
  3. part of me is now wanting a djm2000
  4. I've got a pair of ESI nEar 8" monitors and I am more than happy with them. If my budget allowed, I would go for the fostex monitors
  5. do clubs really have their own serato boxes now? I would suspect some would, but the vast majority would just be cdj's
  6. BYO serato is cool.... I woudn't expect there to be turntables these days though
  7. I just sold my st120, which is basically the same thing. Great TTs!
  8. I doubt that will help, you gotta be a well known DJ to be part of beatport promo. ps. you look like claud vonstroke
  9. the bitrate of the music on that site is fairly low, but it gives me something to listen to at work. I know beatport has some sort of promo section, but that would be nearly impossible to get on.
  10. buy every bit of pioneer with '2000' in the model number. macbook pro + traktor as well
  11. that rcrdlbl.com website is awesome. SO much stuff on there
  12. thanks for that guys, I just signed up then
  13. It seems I've got an ever evolving want list, as far as DJ equipment goes and I am always wanting something new. I figure others could possibly be in the same boat. So, as the title suggests, what new purchases have you recently made or what are you planning on buying next? I think I will be buying traktor scratch next, and possibly a new laptop to go with it.
  14. I use pretty much everything on my mixer, no bells and whistles here... just sound quality and channels mixer is a urei 1605
  15. sorry, i should have said I paid subscriptions.... I wasn't looking for freebees
  16. if it's going to be commercial type music, then look for house/ electro tracks on ministry albums. Alternatively, look at the aria charts.
  17. can people in australia sign up to this service?
  18. currently using traktor, as well as CDs I'm getting lazy though, when it comes to burning music. Traktor scratch will be the next purchase
  19. Wondering if anyone else knows of any labels offering a subscription service. I found out that minus (richie hawtins label) offers people a yearly subsription where they can download every release within that 12months. Just wondering if anyone else knows of any other labels doing the same thing?
  20. agree... bargain!!! the "expensive tech thing" is a video switch worth $650 (new) not sure about that being the best mixer
  21. other: weekend warrior in training
  22. Mc lovin > Sherminator back on topic... I noticed you said you were using a VCI-100 with traktor? was this mix made with traktor? If so, did you use the sync button?
  23. i'm going to get hold of some more decks and try 4... still pointless IMO, but i'll see how it goes. skank, what kind of edits do you do to your tracks?
  24. I think the sarah main videos (stickied in the beginner section) talk about it. otherwise, search it in youtube. That dj tutor bloke should have something to say about it
