needs an android release

ebay is a bit of a tough one, cause you got american sellers who flog stuff for much less than what we pay here at our stores. xd-52-2 got released a little while ago, they are pretty much the same (slightly diferent colour and the cable is removable) they can be had (new) for less than $200, not counting shipping, from the states. I think $150 is fair, providing they are in decent condition. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I in the interest of keeping it real....

you'd be pushing shit up hill to get that price for the headphones.. the new version can be had for similar $$ brand new

is the key detection the same as rekordbox? I'm guessing it aint the chamelot system, since MIK has a patent on that

try re-analysing tracks in rekordbox I rekon. might achally be a faulty unit?

cdj350s or xdj-aero is what you'd want. you can fuck around with traktor easily on both and, as mitch said, they are both rekordbox compatible. I like the idea of turning up to a club with a rekordbox prep'd usb stick and some headphones and being ready to go.

i haven't really come across a video like this before... watch the top left hand corner, where he tells you what he's doing with which unit. A lot of you guys will already know whats happening, but for others who don't, you'll get an idea of whats involved and and idea of how you can implement these kinds of techniques in your mixes. the mix is pretty good too

Hi joel, welcome to the forums. Given your experience with audio technology and IT, you shouldn't have much trouble understanding how most of it works... it's just a matter of practice. you'll find plenty of inspiration and encouragement around these parts, and don't be afraid to ask questions... we're all here to help each other, and we've got some experienced guys and gals around that can answer your questions. I gather your surname is Klein? my preferences are (for what their worth): John Small Joel Klein JJ Small Jay small all of those have a nice ring to them, I recon. as for equipment, I'd be more inclined to look into the S4 instead (for it's time code abilities)... alternatively, the XDJ-aero because it's basically used for rekordbox and all you'd need to take with you to a club when you start getting gigs is your headphones and USB stick to plug into cdj2000s.

out of curiosity, any of you whales have (or know of someone who has) public liability insurance for gigging at clubs? i thought the venue would require that, not the DJ?
