  1. i use hot cues a fair bit, but not so keen on spending $2k/deck... looking more and more like 900's are the go, unless I can find some decent 2000's second hand (no idea what they are worth 2nd hand)
  2. if i set hot cues/loops in rekordbox, I can't use them on a cdj850/900 can I? I'm guessing that the only deck that supports this is the cdj2000? Secondly, am I correct in saying that the only difference between the 850 and 900 is that the 900 has slip mode, can be linked via ethernet and has an extra line of text? Is there something i'm missing?
  3. oh, moved to production BTW
  4. nice find mate, good for all the FL users by the look of it
  5. being a noob, what the difference between this and touch OSC?
  6. external power source sounds shit house, I wouldn't bother personally... but i don't have a need for anything like this PS. moved to computers & shiz
  7. ^he's a producer first and foremost, so it really doesn't matter what medium these artists use to put on a show, people will spend money to hear their songs. how do you get a club gig at 17? I call shenanigans
  8. the poor man's nexus is the dnx1600... they are solid as fuck, traktor certified and are better optioned for midi. i just checked the storeDJ site and the dnx1600 is just over $1k..... more than $1k cheaper than the djm900!!!!!!!
  9. geeez thats cheap
  10. you do realise that the nexus 900 is traktor certified and midi enabled right? in answer to the OP: connect your CDJ's to chan 1 & 2 and set the djm900 to line in connect the mixer to the laptop (USB) and route deck A to chan 3 and deck B to chan 4 you can also route all 4 decks to the mixer, and just flick each chanel to USB if you like, even the ones with CDJs plugged in, and just flick the cdj chanels back to line when you want to use CDs. make sense? also, look at the DNX1600.... it does the same thing
  11. I vote for 1 week ban if the answer is speaker stands... also another week for taking pictures with a toaster
  12. that's it? speaker stands?
  13. sweet, it's recorded... get your edit on son, we need another episode, STAT!
  14. mate, i know a few i could put you in touch with.... i know a few female vocalists and a few rappers/freestylers. holla back and i'll send you links to their work. Not sure if they are keen, but at least the connection is there ps. come to the meet
  15. I'd be more inclined to go traktor, since you have a certified mixer. I've never used rekordbox, but basically you've got a bunch more options in traktor and serato. My advice is to download the demo, and see how you like it.... also, there should be mappings available for your mixer, so no real need to buy a controller as well. check each of their websites, and check the features lists and also the demo videos. this is such an open book question, but really it's personal preference because they all have the same end result.
