  1. yeah, pio gear is heaps different to your mdex.... CDJs are a no brainer play = play and cue = cue, but it's the mixer that you might want to look at before you play. They take no time to learn, but you'll want to know what is what before your gig. got any DJ stores down your way? maybe they could help you out?
  2. we made a PDF version of this book, straight from the website... wonder if that's considered piracy?
  3. in answer to OP, i'd make every channel thru and just use the volume faders rather than the cross fader. if you ever need to use the cross fader throughout your mix, just flick the switches accordingly and assign which ever channels you like to either side (A or
  4. I like that it's $90 for 3 months though... just pay the subscription and leech all the things
  5. ROUND 2! yep, and if he starts at the same time it won't be on a wednesday night either (hopefully) and we can all stay a little longer (take friday off )
  6. he's doing it again in december... lets get the sydney ADJF squad down there again for when he breaks the record
  7. Below is quoted from his facebook.... expect another attempt in december he says Smokin Joe Mekhael It has just come to my attention that Rene Brunner set a new Guinness world record of 150 hours in October last year and that the Guinness website wasn't updated until early this year, well after I completed my marathon set. While I thought that I had set a new world record of 132 hours in December, the time to beat was in fact 150 hours. What this means is that I have no right to call myself The Guinness World Record Holder or The Marathon DJ Champion of the World. I have put the belt away and I'm going to remove it from all of my promotional material. I'd like to congratulate Rene Brunner for breaking the record and with DJ Hertz the best of luck with his attempt. I'd also like to apologise to everyone for claiming to be something that I'm not. Although I acted in good faith and I honestly thought that I had broken the record, I never did. I must say that I was very shocked and disappointed when I read this. It felt like those five and a half days of dedication were for nothing and I felt like a fraud for calling myself the champ for the past four months. The moment when I thought that I had broken the record was the happiest moment of my life, and now it feels like none of it was real. But then I realised how it brought people from the scene together, how it sent out vibrations of peace and love all over the world and how it really tested my mental strength. Last year, I went well beyond what I thought the record was but when it comes to the crunch, I failed. This failure has only strengthened my resolve and later this year, I guarantee that I will set a new Guinness world record for the longest DJ set in history with your help. Every great work, every big accomplishment, has been brought into manifestation through holding to the vision, and often just before the big achievement, comes apparent failure and discouragement. #MAKEYOURDREAMSREALITY! #WOOOOOOO!

  13. the dnmc-3000 or what ever it is?
  14. yes to both, but more than likely you will have to map it yourself with mixxx, unless there is a mapping available that someone else has made
  15. i'd kill multiple birds with one stone and get a Kontrol S4 (or S2)
  16. traktor is easy as fuck for the basic functions. My advice is to chuck your tracks on USB, copy it to his laptop and create a playlist in itunes with your tracks, so you're not trawling through tons of his shit, trying to find your stuff. secondly, let traktor scan each song in the playlist. Just open traktor and load a song into a deck and it will analyse it straight away. you don't want to have it scanning on the fly when you're at your gig, just incase. how long is your gig?
  17. i was there for this
  18. My laptop is more powerful than that (core2duo 2.4ghz, 6GB ram, 500GB HDD) and it barely opens logic lol. Took 5 mins the other day. Plus I wouldn't buy a model that old in the present day, my laptop is 5 yrs old now. So it would probably be similarly aged. that doesn't sound right at all, i've used logic on my core duo with 2gb ram and it worked alright. this was logic 8. double check with swiss and street if they have similar issues
  19. mac with logic done
  20. yeah, so you mentioned... i asked this before I asked you on chat
