wow gold ones eh? i have red, green, black. Wouldn't mind a pair of clear ones tho. I guess the gold ones would be dope if you won the dmc champs back in the day, and had the gold 1200's and mixer to suit guess dj fly thinks so too Lol!

Shamrock, there is nothing wrong with the stantons, they are superior to techs in most aspects, i started out with vestax decks, which had rca sockets on them, and i am prob gonna mod my techs to have the same, after time the orig cables do suffer from fatigue. I wouldnt pay much attn to " made for dj's" labels as your rca lead has no idea what signal is passing thru it.

When buying cables i ask to demo each cable going up in price, when i stop hearing a difference i stop demo'ing and buy. Also stay away from rca's with metal ends, i have found they can rip the sockets out of your eqipment. Tara labs are the best rca's ive found, but they are expensive

Serato recommend Shure m477 cartridges, I use them and have great tracking with serato vinyl. havent tried the ortofones myself

Cant say I really ever use these techniques. my fav cheat is the beat delay to end a track.

Ok guys, we have 5 entrants in the wa round. still unsure of venue but the date is Sun 24th Aug. I am taking the monday off in the hopes that i win (not likely) and can then get shitfaced! If Ox or spit or any other perth members wanna come, I can prob organize a lift there and back, if it helps Now bombard me with ideas for sick tunes to drop, Instrumentals, Movie quotes etc Cheers guys

not after fx, just want to be able to cue my juggle points at 12 o'clock on the vinyl. I can do this on my laptop during the set, but not even sure if i can touch the laptop during my routine. Investigating this now we're not sure of the date or venue yet, it depends if we get enough entrants. thanks for the support!

So I have entered the dmc for the Perth round next month. I Have now found out that i can use serato and my own mixer, but no ext controllers ie Dicers. This to me seems very unfair, If I could afford a Rane threesixty 2, I would have cue points and effects to work with, but as i am poor, I cannot! I have emailed the organizers, with a request to allow my mixer with modifications, If its allowed, I am going to holesaw the top plate of my mixer and retro fit the dicers inside! Is it possible to hire such a high end mixer as the Rane? or does anyone on here have one i could hire? Cheers

Good read, i was looking at the dj tech model, before i bought my innofader, glad i didnt as like the article states, it doesnt have master cueing. This is the reason i purchased the mixer off spitfire, I have always been surprised that my Vestax 05 pro II doesnt have master cueing either. Is this common on a lot of mixers?
