  1. Im bringing back this thread, after getting my new mixer i have got sloppy with my cables. Lol
  2. Shamrock are you a setato user? If so dont be put off the traktor z2 by native instruments, i have just purchased one for 800 bucks at storedj (ex demo) and ive seen them online from aussie sights for $699. I was all set and keen on the rane sixty2 untill i found out you can easily map all the function of the z2 to control serato, it has a better build qual imho and after owning it for a few nights and playing a party with it the second night i had it, it is dope! The fader feels awesome out of the box, it is a innofader mini as std. I have a innofader pro i will fit when the orig dies. Mapping all the cue point buttons, instant doubles and file searching buttions took me all of 10 mins. And the cue point buttons are bigger feel nicer and are in the right spot on the mixer. Hope this info helps.
  3. thats a good deal on the sixty2!
  4. I'll take one for sure! In pink please
  5. Yeah control records should have the protective sleeve but if not, greaseproof baking paper works really well too!
  6. been using m447's since about 2006! they are the best inho. if you buy m477's they achally come with a sytlus case as you can see in this pic, 2 fully loaded carts will fit in this plastic tube, one in each end. Thats how i transport mine.
  7. I use the orig ones that come with my decks, But i take a plastic sleeve from a record (the one that protects the vinyl, not the bag the cover is in) and cut it in to two record shape circles then put them under my slipmats, makes all the difference!
  8. Probably using old rules that haven't updated with technology I think they want to stop remix decks and ableton type stuff. Trying to keep it as much about vinyl manipulation as possible I guess. but yeah, doesnt make sense, no dicers, but midi allowed in mixer????
  9. the 2 decks are worth that alone, easy!
  10. Serato since 06 baby! but if i figure this traktor dealy out i may be converted! lol
  11. And this is your first beat you say.......nice work man. Only listening on phone but sounds well balanced, maybe the claps are a bit loud if i had to pick anything. Keep it up man
  12. yes yes you should! being a traktor user, you will really apreciate the control available from this mixer! I had a quick play with traktor scratch last night, but geez its clunky and hard to navigate if you are used to serato!
  13. Rules state you can bring your own mixer and any functions it has with any dvs but no external controllers. So yes! Faak em i got my cue points and instant doubles now! Plus the filters on the z2 are awesome
  14. Z2 is sooooooo good!
  15. Well after ringing germany twice this evening, i finally got the z2 going and managed to map all the serato functions i need to the midi buttons and knobs. This mixer is the bomb!!!!! Crossfader is delicious, eqs and filters are excellent but geez she a big girl!
  16. OOOOOOOH YEAH BABY paid for now awaiting delivery!
  17. I know! when will people learn!
  18. Can one of the mods please delete this thread, items are no longer for sale. Cheers
  19. Yeah for sure, plus now its 6 min rounds! And i'll have to make about 2 or 3 routines incase i get thru the first.
  20. Ah yeah im not gonna sell serato now! Lol will edit my post.
  21. Qbert and Shortkut like it
  22. So did some practice tonight, managed to string a short vid together, i messed up a couple of juggles and this is only early testing stages, i still need to get heaps of quotes and cuts sorted, choice of instrumentals and make the intro in maschine. This is still selecting tracks from my crate, i will eventually cut it all into 1 long track and mark cue points for each section. Then just have the same track on each deck and wont have to touch the keyboard to change tracks. Which bring me to my next dilema, as stated they wont alloy dicers, so after much umming and ahhhing and research. Including testing at storedj tonight, I have decided on the Traktor Z2. \:D/ The Rane sixty2 was my natural first choice (being a serato user) but after playing with one in the flesh, I didnt like the layout or the price tag , I really like Z2. It is easy enough to map it to serato functions, has an awesome feel and layout, and I got a special deal price of $800. Will pick it up next week some time. You never know, after the comp i will play with the traktor scratch software. With Maschine and the Z2 I could make some cool live beat/mixing cutting type stuff. Anyway here is the video, i'm atempting to host it from dropbox, as i dont want to put it on youtube. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/zme8o5dqbhjyvm3/AAChFgcHh9P_XY5knmnirRlZa
