Wow, what a week. After going to Oxykon's house and learning some fundamental mixing techniques that i skipped in my learning curve, I have last night discovered midi mapping and effects. Now some of you will laugh, but even after buying my dicers, I didnt fully grasp what they were doing! lol I had bought them purely to trigger cue points, something i was already doing in serato. Now (dont laugh) I have realised that serato has built in fx! And that I can map these effects to spare buttons on my dicer. This is prob all simple stuff for you guys, but not for me. I had always had the (narrow minded) view that fx and looping was the domain of edm only! what a muppet i have been. My mixing leaped forward last night, with the use of delay, and eq's i am now smashing genre's and bpms together I never thought possible. I am now installing the serato app for ipad, to see what other cool things i can do!
