  3. I played an engagement party for a good friend last night. I was happy to do it for free as he's always helped and encouraged my dj'ing. When we got back to his house after the gig he gave me these as a thankyou! Big ups Rob Galvin!
  4. I paid $800 for my pair of 1200mk2's i think $1000 is about the going rate for 1200's maybe up to $1400 for 1210's and like mitch said $1600 is about right for mk5's
  5. Setup for a mates party tommoro night!
  6. JL w6 10" woofers, the best a car can get inho Had one of these focal 13"s in my wrx, the most accurate car woofer i have ever heard! Cant believe i left it in the car when i sold it! Faaking eediot!
  7. Damn straight it was!
  8. For scratching the rane would be my choice, sixty two is my dream mixer! But as stated any mixer that can take an innofader will be fine if you really get into scratching. Installation is very simple ive fitted a few now with no trouble.
  9. Im sure the adjustment pot is under the platter, remove the platter and the black plastic motor cover and there should be two adjustment pots, 1 for braking speed and one for pitch?
  10. Faak yeah Mitchy! are they mk5's?
  11. I started on vinyl (before dvs lol) and can say you really need both, laptops fail, usb drives fail, wax does not (unless warped from heat) But i def prefer dvs (serato in my case) ive become used to the visual help, cue points and non skip features plus being able to play my own beats ive made on dvs and scratch any soundfile i can think of. I recently played a wax only gig with Oxy, having a weeks practice on real wax only, showed me how much my skills had slipped. If im playing a gig or party from now on i will prob take a small bag of my favourite wax aswell as my serato setup, just incase theres any tech difficulties and also because people are genuinely surprised these days if you use real vinyl :-) As far as collecting vinyl goes, at first when i started out i would grab just about anything that came in to my local record store costing me a small fortune. Nowadays i am more selective, but for making beats i grab heaps of op shop $1 assorted old stuff. I have also scored heaps of old collections from family members and friends. But i have to wait to get my hands on my parents massive collection! Lol
  12. They will m8!
  13. Thats cool, ive been messing with some text to speech stuff, trying to make soundbites for adjf radio. The online free ones are crap!
  14. Few questions that might narrow it down. Do they have a fuse on the amp section on the back? Does it smelled like toasted electronics? Does the amp get instantly hot when you power it up? Does it pop if you turn the gain up a little and cycle power on/off? Is there a power led, if so is it on? I can take a look but sounds like you are anxious to get them looked at today, and i fully understand this haste! Lol I have always used a1 audio in beaufort st. Perth They did all our repairs when worked for alberts car stereo.
  15. A mate of mine is a speaker building mad scientist! Always making new enclosure types and flat panel mount floorstanders. His latest addition was 2 powered 15" home theatre drivers in individual 2 meter high tower boxes. I'll get some pics of his work. All his designs are made of raw finish mdf, because he never keeps a design long enough to trim the damn things!
  16. they are gorgeous, buy them now!
  17. Want moar?
  18. first atempt, will do some more....... https://www.dropbox.com/s/4k31coodem3ns ... dbite1.wav
  19. Outcome successful! Went to jaycar, got adaptor, mixer works fine!!!!!! Phew
  20. I called a techie friend of mine and he picked it straight away. The power adapter Spitfire was sold was 12v 1.5amp DC whereas for some strange reason the Stanton mixer requires 12 1 amp AC this is strange, as almost all small electronics with transformer packs run low voltage DC. I guess it can power up the leds and some parts of the mixer, but not the audio side, maybe Duz can shed some light on that for me? He also may know if this would have damaged the mixer, I'm guessing no, because there are no burnt tracks on the board, or burnt components, there is no smell and it hasn't smoked and when I was turning it on and off, i could here a normal switching pop coming through the headphones. Im off to jaycar tomorrow to get the right power adapter, fingers crossed shes not fried!
  21. Ok, got a second hand mixer from spitfire, he had only used it once or twice. He had to get a replacement power transformer for it as the other was misplaced. A same voltage, correct polarity unit was obtained, the mixer powered up with leds lit up. As soon as i got it home, i didnt check it first (dumb dumb) just got stuck in and ripped out the stock fader, checked compatibility with my innofader, which was all good, installed innofader, checked correct plug alignment with the innofaders onboard diag test, which lit up green for good. Hooked it up to my serato box first, and had no output, so to test logically i plugged the turntable directly into the mixers phono in put, and put on some normal vinyl, still nothing. At this point i thought maybe the fader was not compatible, so refitted the stock unit, still nothing. My speakers are fine, and i am getting a pop if i touch the rcas which are running to the speakers from the mixer, so no problem there. The mixer states that it requires 12v 1.0 amp power input, but the new power transformer is 12v 1.5 amp, now to my knowledge this shouldnt matter, as devices only draw the current they require, and there is enough amperage on tap. I am usually able to figure most things out but this has me stuffed????? In no way am I upset or blaming Spitfire, to the best of his knowledge is was working fine when he last used it, and as the power lights lit up when he checked the new power supply, we both assumed it was fine. I am now going to open her up and check for maybe a dry joint on the board, but i struggle to understand why there is no input or output, I have had faders and mixers stuff up before, usually dropping a channel, or introducing noise but not just nothing at all? Any ideas guys??
