you dont need to write a book on djing, 1hr of youtube is faster, more convenient and would have greater effectiveness than a paperback djing is so easy nowadays no-one would buy/commit funds for such a publication when they can access it from free all over the web a venture like this is simply doomed to fail and not become financial

honestly waz thats probably enough for the time being haha. except we'd need to much with the colouring of the lettering and change it to 'Drop Bear' . alittle 30s-1min vid similar to that would probably get me out of trouble. dont stress to much about it yet though as i cant play it for at least 2 weeks. A lot of fine detail is lost when it goes over the led main system anyway.

yeah i know the lights guy im going to hit him up tonight about it the clubs do generally sort it out but travelling artists often have their own backdrop scenes on a usb that they can plug in and run. works whether its a projector, led screen or a whole bunch of tvs.

ok so im about to endeavour to create like a mini movie for when i dj to play on a large screen. not too intense really itll be lots of presets, basically dj name in 3d floating around behind me as i do my set. my question is twofold. firstly-what would be the best video format for this kind of project? Second-what programs would be best to try and make said movie/animation/whatever it needs to be.

one day at meet we must do a case race. pick a partner and go from there i call shotgun on pending or a half case (for a quick decider of drinking prowess or even full case for the die hards over say 6-12 hours) for the individual title I can't do RTD's but if we do bottles of spirits then im in no readies pending? beers, premix whatever? seems kind of weak. see if we do spirits someone will die

sounded really crackly over my monitors. would hate to play this on a large system..

the kbps really comes to affecting volume. put simply 320 is louder than 128/192 whatever the qualities are often very similar but the 320 is louder and brighter. the same can be said for good quality wav's (lossless) which are better than 320. that being said compressing the hell out of a track is often done to hide shitty mastering so be careful will lossless that have been mastered using a tin can and string. i have heard situations where 320 is better than wav because it not everything is audible.

the great thing with oxykon is if he is ever bad mitch will haxxxxx his computer and empty that hold bin if oxy isnt bad and any of us become millionaires itll be like christmas on steroids for him

ive been djing for like 4-5 years now and i would say only in the last 6 months have i had the awareness and skill to play stuff ive never heard (providing i know the audio file is good) off the cuff. in the end the real skill comes when you can actually think on your feet and remember what songs sounds similar (kicks have the same tone or pattern, hats have the same rhythm, similar melodies, samples etc) i learnt (day 1) to match the same song (so i know what matched songs sounded like), then songs of the same tempo within the same key (so i had practice beatmatching) (week 4) then its all about building up a library that you know. its great to have a 1000 songs in your library that you could probably string together end to end but the trick comes to working the phrases, learning to loop, use effects but most of all listen to more music. i play regulary in pubs, clubs, weddings etc and still make an effort a couple of times a week to play music with no preparation, a genre ive never heard/mixed or to just mix as fast as i can to improve my skill level. at the end of the day if you want to take djing somewhere (whether it be a club, festival watever) its hard not to recognise a strong, skills based work ethic. because once you can dj, what you play becomes the most important factor between an average and an excellent dj. ive heard excellent mixes from very poorly skilled djs because they kept to genre, or a theme and just played good tracks. and on the flip side, ive heard shitty mixes (often in clubs) from incredibly skilled headliners who were to arsed/full of themselves to do more than the bare minimum (whether it be playing bangers for an hour) or not commit to a good show. tl;dr-beatmatch using same song, then similar songs of same tempo+key, then different tempos/genres/keys, then build busic library, practice everyday.

i can probably arrange someone to do it? what do you need?
