its a drag and drop from the plugin menu if you only want it to effect a single stem add to one channel if you want to simulate turning the base down on a mixer (thus effecting every soundfile in the track) drag the eq 3 to the master channel in the bottem right of arrangement view

this is what i said in regards to the query As for mixing in a loud busy room, in my experience the mixing itself will be good full or empty. I feel college has definitely improved my ability to fend off people who might want to come near the gear or interfere with the music. besides its a job not a charity people start getting too close I'm going to make sure i sought it out. The physical noise level can be distracting but if the monitor/booth speakers are half decent things should be fine.

i thought so as well but i dont fuck around with this dude so im planning to just say. mixing is good regardless but... because he wouldnt have asked if he wasnt chasing something specific

So im just answering a few questions for a potential venue gig im applying for. I got asked whether my mixing will be better or worse in a loud room full of people? just want to make sure i give the most accurate answer possible. what are the forums thoughts as havent found a whole lot of useful resources on the topic on the interwebs. From my experience playing lots of loud gigs in the past, I want to say that the mixing itself shouldnt change alot, however it will be harder to mix in a louder environment. if the monitor speakers arnt configured correctly fine tuning mixing points is difficult as the sound gets heavily reflected by walls etc. The fact that a room is full of people means that their movement itself will change the sound dynamic of room, absorbing alot of low end frequencies. What ive found from my experience is that people dont really notice the 'noise' so much in loud environments such that you can fuck up alittle, overlap, have a bit of shoddy eqing etc. In this way mixing that is the same as a mixtape will sound much better in a loud club as minor eq points/volume issues will simply be lost in the clutter of the noise alreasy being pumped out by the front of house speakers. any and all help is appreciated.

Does A Good DJ Make You 'Dance More & Drink Less'?
AlexJ replied to yizzle's topic in DJ Headquarters
scum whale was fucking with us burn him at the stake but ive had so many gigs like this when i used to be a mobile dj. when your doing 18ths etc you play whatever the little whiney bitches want you to play. they pay you to stand there and do what they could have achieved with an ipod and a their own stereo/tv hifi system. i remember one night where i played party rock anthem-macarena-ymca-sexy and i know it then repeat about 3 or 4 times. i got a whole hour of my set out with 4 songs with no loss in dance floor action/volume -
ive been working on a few recently. honestly depends on what your making the mashup for imo if its for a bunch of drunk bitches, as long as you go smoothly (where that be a straight vocal cut/switch in time or white noise build /snare roll watevs) from one vocal hook to another your normally fine. with these things, especially given all the commercial remixes i now have in my collection ive found the the best ones done deviate too much from the original style of the song (ie dont warp vocals way faster/slower than original) but still sound different. if your an electro guy simply adding a dirty drop in between choruses can be all you have to do. whack over a progressive synth, 4 to the floor kick, bounce bassline and some other percussive element and your set. trust me ive played alot of tracks that have gone down really well that im positive were done in a single night as they're basic. KISS principles. your remixing/mashuping because that shit is popular. it s popular because people know the tune. if you make it hard for people to follow allow/get too fancy. it becomes too hard to like it and/or to hard for other dj's to play it out. (trust me i dont play a handful of absolutely epic mashups in my sets because the producer has made the track too complicated and difficult too mix in). nothing i hate more than an epic song i cant play because some retard producer has made an electro track, with a fucking trap buildup, that has a moobah drop before a progressive breakdown with the vocal. if its too hard to use you loose half your market

Does A Good DJ Make You 'Dance More & Drink Less'?

yeah im not sure how legit the whole 'reveal' scenario is. i know the idea of seeing someone i like slows my drinking. i know there have been psych studies done as well as to bpm and drinking rates and trance/techno is a much higher bpm than say standard hiphop, electro, top40 etc. the music is more intense by nature--> less prone to boredom -
yeah. i feel like the 'preview; tool would be wicked handy in a hud system.

This looks dope This is not your father’s Trigger Finger. The Trigger Finger has to be one of the biggest success stories in controllers, ever. Back before “controllerism” was a thing, this was what you took along – cheap, light, easy-to-abuse, it was a warhorse 4×4 grid of pads with faders. I’ve watched Flying Lotus tear up his; I’ve seen it win laptop battles. I’ve seen people play them with pads weirdly half ripped-off and all the knob and fader caps missing. I’ve seen Trigger Fingers that looked like someone dragged them through the mud tied to a pickup truck. (I knew that controllerism concert with Monster Trucks rally combo wasn’t a good idea.) Well, now the Trigger Finger Pro USB controller is here, with a lot more controls. The pads light up with RGB color feedback, because, well, no pads anywhere will ever again escape the disco treatment. (Wasn’t there a Care Bears movie where that happened? Or did I just get high on Skittles once as a child of the 80s and dream that?) But it’s not just light-up pads – you get bunches of new controls, and a metal stand, and a fancy screen, and, most importantly, a step sequencer. Also, for reasons I can’t possibly explain, it has a drum kit from Justin Timberlake on it. And Timbaland. (Anyone else fantasizing about a massive Artist Relations mistake there? “Hey, boss, I got the Timberlake samples you asked for.” “Not Timberlake, you idiot! Timbaland! Okay, fine, give me Justin’s … drum kits … and please get Mr. Timbaland on the phone.”) The new thing: 4×4 pads with velocity (no word on pressure?) RGB feedback on pads 16 backlit keys, internal step sequencer High-res screen, apparently coupled with that step sequencer Map controls to your favorite software (AIR Drums and Hybrid 3 are included, but there’s also something called Arsenal for controlling other software or operating standalone for performance) Aluminum faceplate, detachable 3-position stand Built-in instruments, 8 GB of sounds Updated: we’ve got details on two additional features. You’ll notice there’s a “roll” button. And you get MIDI DIN out. Lots more to ask, yes. The good: step sequencing, lots of potential in the display. The bad: not in love yet with those looks (maybe it looks better in person), concerned about layers of controller software, possibly missing pressure on the pads. The unknown: lots. We’ll be researching specifics, for sure. It’s more pricey than the original. But US$399 street with these additional controls and step sequencer could be worthwhile. It really all comes down to how the editor and step sequencer functionality work, I think, plus (vitally) how it feels. Let’s hope M-Audio has picked up some pad expertise in the acquisition by InMusic – otherwise known as the current home of Akai.
