Armed with a pair of Pioneer CDJ 2000’s and function1 speakers, with a backset of sun, sea and sand, Newcastle born Richy Ahmed kicked off Boiler Rooms ‘Jamie Jones presents Paradise’ Ibiza villa takeovers with a chilled out house music mix, perfect for the beautiful coastal Ibiza setting. Richy has rapidly risen to the forefront of the scene this year, being a resident at Paradise and being part of Hot Creations inner circle, Richy has been playing out at infamous clubs and huge dance music festivals across the globe and is regularly tipped as one to watch by the likes of Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Clive Henry and Seth Troxler. The mix focuses around the fresh underground house sounds of 2013 featuring ‘Legendary’ from Cassio Kohl, Dubspeeker’s ‘My World’ and Lake People – ‘Point in time’, which is smoothly mixed into Phonique’s ‘For the Time Being.’ Finishing off on the setting of the sun with Jacob Korn’s ‘You & me’ (with break sl feat. tabitha xavier) Richy sets the perfect scene for Jamie Jones & Dyed Soundorom who keep things rolling. Austrian drum and bass duo Camo & Krooked have dropped their new single “Move Around” from their upcoming album Zeitgeist. Soaring, uplifting vocals from Ian Shaw float over a gorgeous emotion-packed melody, with massive disco, funk, and R&B influences throughout. The Move Around EP includes the radio edit, original mix, a solid remix by Uppermost, and the instrumental edit of the track. Tony Coleman (aka London Elektricity), head honcho of Hospital Records and longtime supporter of beautiful drum and bass music, said recently in his podcast, the album “is going to surprise a hell of a lot of people…it’s a very, very adult album musically. Full marks to Camo & Krooked, it’s astonishingly brilliant.” Hear for yourself what he’s on about by watching the official music video, jam-packed with awesome cinematography and adrenaline-filled stunts: Expect much more in the coming weeks from the rising drum and bass duo as Zeitgeist, one of our most-anticipated albums of this year, drops September 30th. ”Move Around” is out now on iTunes and for sale at the Hospital Records Shop. Tomorrowland has been fortified as one of the globe’s greatest music festivals, as each year fans from around the world travel to Belgium to take part in the fantasy world. For those who have yet to make the voyage, however, Tomorrowland holds a near equal equivalence as the most mythical event one could dream of. Year after year, Tomorrowland’s impeccable production and experience blow minds for those lucky enough to get their hands on tickets, but lands in the hearts of everyone else through their revered aftermovies. For the past five years, these have portrayed something that had been previously unimaginable, and the 2013 short film is no exception. This September, the Tomorrowland experience goes global with the first ever TomorrowWorld. Source: dancingastronaut.com

With a rework of Knife Party’s “Fire Hive” under their belts and a nod to the duo’s predecessor on nearly every Troll Mix, it seemed only fitting that with the announcement of new Pendulum would come a Krewella-fied version of one of the Dn’B band’s tunes. Immersion’s “Watercolour” was the selected track, but instead of dubbing it out like “Fire Hive” the Chicago threesome opted to sweeten it up in an acoustic cover. Featuring the piano skills of the ever-talented Evan Duffy, the Krew went for reverbed vocals, strings and purposeful percussion to retell the track’s story, packaging the whole thing as a free download. While we wait for Rob Swire to tweet out an album release date, this modified trip down memory lane gives us one more reason to keep our eyes peeled. https://soundcloud.com/krewella/pendulum-watercolour-krewella Source: dancingastronaut.com

In attempt to put an EDM star on the spot much like they regularly do with modern celebrities, TMZ caught Skrillex at the airport to ask a couple of questions after Electric Zoo. In the outlet’s typical fashion, they passed over asking about the festival or the music and rather asked Sonny his thoughts on Paris Hilton as a DJ. The OWSLA head played it cool with the paparazzo with the humblest of responses and appeared even more suave when asked about Jersey Shore star Pauly D. Source: dancingastronaut.com

Ministry of Sound has leveraged a lawsuit against Spotify citing repeated instances of copyright infringement. The record label is displeased with playlists posted on the popular streaming service that mirror the tracklistings of their many compilation albums — some of which include “Ministry of Sound” in the title. Ministry of Sound CEO Lohan Presencer claims they’ve been attempting to remedy the situation with removal of the playlists since 2012, but to no avail. “It’s been incredibly frustrating: we think it’s been very clear what we’re arguing, but there has been a brick wall from Spotify,” he said. The issue at hand is not the legality of streaming the individual tracks as Spotify has the rights to them. The courts will instead be faced with having to decide whether the selection and arrangement of compilation albums tracklists is subject copyright infringement. “What we do is a lot more than putting playlists together: a lot of research goes into creating our compilation albums, and the intellectual property involved in that. It’s not appropriate for someone to just cut and paste them,” said Presencer. For Ministry of Sound, whose business model relies on compilation album sales — up 30% this year — this is particularly problematic. Presencer further explains, “There are other services that have playlists, and when we have seen this happening – playlists using Ministry of Sound’s name – when we have notified them, they have willingly taken them down. It’s only against Spotify that we’ve hit this brick wall.” Source: dancingastronaut.com

Boys Noize joins Baauer in the studio for new collaboration
OxyKon posted a topic in DJ Headquarters
After performing alongside Skrillex on the BNR/OWSLA stage at first day of this year’s ill-fated Electric Zoo, Boys Noize went on to make a surprise appearance with A-Trak at Labor Day’s Fool’s Gold Day Off in Brooklyn. Making the most out of his time in New York, Alex Ridha announced via Twitter that he was taking some studio time with Philadelphia-born Baauer. His collaboration with the “Harlem Shake” producer comes as little surprise as he continues to evolve his trademark style. The BNR labelhead and electro phenom has been experimenting and incorporating trap into his productions and performances since this year’s Go Hard EP. Source: dancingastronaut.com
