    Hey Guys!

    Welcome dude
  2. HE'S BACK
  3. I have a belkin USB hub that I got from JB hi fi, from memory I think it was only $20, works quite well and is small enough to fit in a coin pocket on a pair of jeans
  4. I guess I'm different there, can't stand the prick, he acts like he's gods gift to the world, sure is got a great voice but to act up the way he does is pathetic
  5. I think it's more a rip at Justin beiber with his vocals, I pissed myself laughing when I heard it
  6. It seems that superstar Canadian DJ, Joel Zimmerman, won't be content until they make trolling an Olympic sport. This week he's set his lazer sights on the new track from Diplo and Skrillex collaboration, Jack Ü. The track, which features Justin Bieber and debuted this week has been panned by the Mau5Trap boss who said "it blows donkey balls" and said he had to go to sleep to: "unconciously scrape this shitty fucking 3rd grade production and autotuned 'singing' bullshit out of my head" And as if that wasn't enough, he's now recorded a parody of the track, imaginatively titled "where im at" and uploaded it to SoundCloud. The 34 second piece has a similar beat to Jack 's "Where Are Ü Now" but with the crucial addition of some heavy recored blowing from Deadmau5. The track has clocked up 138,473 listens in 16 hours. What a time to be alive. Original Track Parody https://soundcloud.com/fuckmylife/where-im-at Source
  7. Hi mate, Welcome to the forum, as eggs was saying there isn't any need to post the same posts twice or more, when this starts happening a lot of people start to ignore the poster. please be sure to post in the correct areas to save confusion for others in the future. But again eggs is right as we do have a local Hip Hop guru how goes by the name of wrxfiend, on top of that there is a few others floating around, stick around and you might find what you're looking for
  8. Just over 1 hr until i go live with this weeks Saturday Sessions set, today we're revisiting the Breakbeat/Hip Hop world and this time it's 100% vinyl, last week i was working from Traktor and i thought i may as well break out a lot of the vinyl that I've been collecting for years, should be another funky set with plenty of classics, be sure to tune to ADJF Radio at 5pm EST (3pm Perth time)
  9. So I've had this thought for a few days now. As a DJ you're always growing, learning new genre's, tricks, styles, equipment, etc. Take me for example, I started out mixing on vinyl with Electro/House, then started expanding to Dubstep (which was big at the time), then Breaks and then moved to Drum & Bass. After that came Ambient/Chillout and now have been focusing a lot on Hip Hop. As you are embarking on the journey as a DJ you also start expanding your equipment, I started on a set of plastic turntables and a shitty Stanton mixer, then bought CDJ's, followed by a 4ch mixer and then probably the best purchase I ever made, a set of Technics. then came a couple of a Midi controllers followed by Traktor. Along the way you also start expanding to the club scene, taking what you can get, few shows here and there, maybe get in tight with a crew and doing regular gigs and possibly opening for major acts and doing festivals. I've done a few gigs around town, mainly unpaid helping friends out with fundraisers. Got into internet radio for a couple years which led to more gigs playing at silent disco's and street festivals, but now i prefer to just play for myself and play what I like to play and not please anybody but myself (if i'm not having fun playing music then it comes out in my mixing). With all this said, my question is to the rest of you is. What would you do if you could do things differently, go back in time to when you started and make a change, maybe focus more on a different genre, or invest in different equipment, or hang with a different crew and do different gigs, etc. For me it would be invest in different equipment, like i said before, lately i've been finding myself focusing on Hip Hop and have been fascinated with the art of scratching, the mixer i have (DJM800) isn't set up with the correct fader to scratch so makes it a little more difficult, plus most of the time i'm only ever using 2 channels so it seems like a waste for the other 2, and i don't really use many of the beat effects so i don't really use the mixer to its full potential. Another thing i would change would be to start mixing at a younger age and hook up with more crews, I started in my mid 20's which was the same time when I started preferring to stay at home and enjoy a beer rather than stay out all night and pay an arm and a leg for a drink, so I didn't ever get involved with any crews and play decent gigs. What I wouldn't change would be all the genres i've come across. I love changing it up every now and then and confusing people with what i'm about to play, as I have always focused around playing Drum & Bass, it's funny to then throw down a house set and watch peoples heads turn because they're not use to me playing that genre. So with all this said, what would YOU change, and what wouldn't you change about yourself if you could go back in time.
  10. Ahk I'll have to look it up Edit, just saw the link in above posts

  21. you're already doing a very noble cause with the school, would be great to see some ideas that you have drafted up, i know like eggs was saying, there will be a few of us that could be on board
  22. We still need good ol fashion donations to keep this place running, a lot of us fork out quite a few $ to keep the lights on around here
  23. I'd be keen to see what it would look like, when seeing it written on paper it's almost what like Rob Swift did back in the day when he was writing his scratch routines down for all to see
