lol theres some classics in here, please keep them coming guys, this weekend after my BYP set i will make a thread for voting was telling a friend at work about this today and he thinks its awesome some of the ideas coming out, he thought Oxydent was a good 1 mainly cause of the meaning being west, although ive checked soundcloud and there is 1 guy called Oxydent who has 1 house mix up (no idea where he is based but his had quite a few pays on his set) and facebook has some guy called Oxydent caen from france does that count?

Yeah look I'm sorry, I've had a really bad afternoon and have way too much going through my head, I know what you guys mean, you all know me as defkon, you tune into my sets every week and I love all y'all (no homo) for that, but I don't see the point in fighting this 1, the guy had the name 1st, his older than me, been DJ'n longer than me, has more contacts in the Perth scene, and a few people have already got me confused with him, do you see what I mean

Dude I understand what you mean, and i don't care if people call me a push over, srsly I dont, but at the end of the day this guy would've found out that I'm getting more exposure than him, which is the reason his being a whale, and guess what, it's not the name that gave me the exposure, it's the fact that I'm making the effort to mix every single weekend ( and possibly his ears my sets and realized I'm better then him ), and the BYP notices this, I'm achaly their most reliable dj because my APRA sheets are always in on time if not ahead of time, and I'm always their 30min before my set, plus every1 that follows me on fb, the BYP n shit will know my name is changing, and when this whale who calls himself defkon is stull living in a southern country town of WA and is still mixing to his friends and sees I changed my name and is still getting more gigs than him, then who is gonna have the last laugh

Ikon is a hip hop dj in California, wouldn't help me out if I'm trying to get gigs when I'm over their, I did think of just "Kon"

Guys unfortunately this is happening, and to answer some the the q's above, yeah GREMM1S he is older than me and has the exact same spelling as me, yeah he has the same styles of music as me Russell it's not as simple as that, yeah I've probably done more promoting than he has of the name, but when I was at the eve night club doing my set a couple weeks back, when 1 of the guys who was playing later than me heard the name defkon, he instantly thought I was him, and that guy is 1 of the judges at the local dnb comp coming up in a couple months

Ahk guys, i really need your help here, please srsly stay on topic so i was contacted tonight by another guy in WA that has the same name defkon, and a long story short, he has technically been in the perth scene for longer than me and knows a few promoters around perth, word got round that there was 2 defkons and he has asked me to change my name, as attached as i am to this name (i mean fuck i just had a friend make me a god dam logo) i have decided to do the mature thing and change my name. problem is i have no idea what to change it to, i am hoping that all of y'all can help me come up with a new name, you all know my styles of music to be either smooth chilled liquid dnb or absolutely fuckin heavy in your face bass music, i really want this to stay on topic and please the more ideas the better, need something catchy, something that people will notice, and the sooner the better all your ideas would be greatly appreciated, i know a lot of you quite well, as do you with me, im posting this here not just because its a dj related topic, but because i respect all of your opinions, i love this forum, and i know you can help let the ideas begin
