Is force quit on a mac more of an issue than on pc?
imadje replied to imadje's topic in Computer Corner
^cheers man. all is up to date. I did turn off controller b4 itch had shut but only because itch had been trying to shut for 5 mins already... i'll try replicate and if doesnt happen again: no worries. nice one mitch. +rep for v quick response. -
^ man, i tried so hard not to derail this thread about what we got from adjf... Crundddsss: you gotta do 2nd best then and take me to your dealer... Eggs: sounds like the start to a good adventure to me... come at me ya westie! srs tho: olds are pretty poorly, and old, so we've had to step back from the emmigration plan...

Last night at end of the gig my mac wouldnt close itch. I turned off my NS6 controller and it still wouldnt quit. I packed down the lights and P.A. and it still hadnt quit. I reckon I gave it long enough so used the power button to "force quit" The mac has booted fine this morn and i'll test later with the controller and Itch... Is their anyway I can find out if it was software, controller or mac itself that had the fault? I know on PCs this is a common enough thing and pretty safe but am wondering if I should be any more worried that I had to do this to my new mac? posted this in computer corner and digital dj thread to get most knowledge.

not as far as me pun! isnt skank the mobile with style in sydney? good luck chicka.
-
good bump chev, got them now. enjoy your royalties mate, i'll let you know if you deserve them once i've had a chance to hear it
-
yer man... as mobile it's all about hooks and riffs, folk recognise the song, get on the groove for a minute then i hit them another one they (hopefully) like more... if they dont like it I cut it to something else. 3min is absolute max i would play a song for in this style. but then there are grooves that have to have time to work on the crowd eg: I may play just the hook (one or two min) of prince - kiss, grandmaster flash - white lines as a teaser to fill the floor, but then drop a full 5/6 min of sugarhill gangs rappers delight. If it's really working I'll nip to the bog/have a fag then come back and get back to 2/3min cuts again.

so 4 blokes could lift the whole thing onto a car trailor or flatbed truck in a few minutes with no worries. then get to work on the lock in their own sweet time in their own lock up. Thats a common way for Mini Cooper and Volkswagon Beetle cars to be robbed so dont think your trailor is too heavy for 4 big blokes. If they know where it is and they know it's worth it, well... ...just letting you know what's possible mate but it's worth remembering: i live in the second layer of hell. It may be different where you are.
-
you leaving kit in trailor then? even if it's kept in a garage that sounds very easy to steal to me mate... hope you live in a good hood and that no one learns how much value you're keeping in it.

wazza totally sorted my PC optimisation. chev and eggs showed me the roots exist in oz. all of you have helped me learn the internets, esp cupe. This has inspired me to set up my own blog. Sol has shown me how ez it is to do youtube vids and i will set up my own tutorials eventually. ...and i've learnt a whole load about how to get work and emmigrate to your sunny country... unfortunatley have illness amongst the olds in the family so plans on hold for now tho...

ableton has several vocoder effect presets that simulate robots which may do... you can tweak them of course. p.s. never said: congrats for the wedding plans mate. One of best things i ever did was find the right grrrrrl!

^ i heart traktor. nice 1 caps. i did that jun mixtape comp entry on my hercules steel using traktor and a NI8. audio from NI8 to my headphones... traktor recording internally as explained above... mix is rushed and rubbish but sound quality tight....enjoying your mix man, you got my vote. I heart itch now tho -
