serato itch - potentially dumb question ahead
tommykesh replied to hoddi's topic in Digital & Software
No sink but you can still cheat match using part of the display. But it took me less time to learn beat matching properly on a proper vinyl then it did working the display thing. -

It was a bit harsh a do admit. I would say that for every one track I like to play which the genral public like there is probably 15 to 20 they hate. I'm nt mixinnng to win a popularity contest, it's becoouse I love doing it and more then any thing else it makes happy as a meth addict at the codral factory. If you guys feel soo strongley about it then your probably enjoying what you play as much as I do, which does sorta make makes me think I should keep a few of those thoughts to my self (thats always gonna be struggle. Now as far as being a troll the rent is cheep as a Beringer mixer plenty of fish frommm the local water source and not many sound complaints. It's good to see people have such strong opinions on music as I do -
To be fair though it dont matter what kind of stuff your into, it must be such a pain to track em all down. Kind of makes file sharing between mates a must if you dont have every thing backed up in a safe place

That sucks If it makes you feel any better the guys who took your shit probably have had to endure hearing what was on the cds. Crime dont pay

Once a song is finished and made avalible for the public, it should be become public domain. If I ever chose to try and make it I would be making it a goal to have have my shit out their for any one to do with it as they so wished. As just about all electronic stuff has little parts of other peoples expretion laced through out it. ROYALTIES are for clue less and shallow hack execs who think PittBull is the "shit" and has "mad skills" Real insperied stuff lasts for ever (thank you armen brake)

Cheers bud Looking for as much support in our little community of sound as possible. I think the main focus for most the people I know who are comin is like a bit of exchange of diffrent styles (put into the right order to keep a flow) new tricks to be learned tracks to find out about and if theres time get a little messy.

Been told that that the room on the right as you go in has these thigs on the roof to help bounce the sound properly. Can any one clarify this as I'm sick of mentioning and then thinking am I right, porley informed or boderingon a lie. PS laundery is probably the best club in Sydney but every time i been their all I see is a pretty intresting mix done by a bored and rebotic like live sound producer (Mastering Ablton is an art but it is not DJ'ing)

Reald DJs DONT PLAY top 40 -
not a flight. But if your that keen I can pay for transport via a wooden crate. It wont be that bad I will make sure the floor is lined with straw and if you are worried about being a bit to hot I can up the air holes from one to two. Meals provided that is if you dont mind eating animal pellets (like the ones you get at a petting zoo) This once in a life time offer is open to

Rane Sixty Eight Serato Mixer And Controller
tommykesh replied to Cupe's topic in Mixers & Controllers
Prowd owner, Few minor flaws (as it's ranes 1st attempt at some thing like this) But the positves out way them by sooooo much -
Own 2 Stanton 150s great, how ever I find the pitch slider is not as fast to react or as easy to to get perfect as 1200's

Mixing for 5 and half years Started on vinyl mixing mostly Hard Trance. After a few years made the switch to Serato and it opened up new styles my wallet would not allow me to really explore. These days I'm into just about any thing between 120 and 180 BPM. I'm about the MUSIC AND NOT THE STATUS Club DJ'ing aint really what I wanna do with my mixing, as It's to much about kissing the right persons ass, and I aint about pretending to be mates with shallow and self absorbed losers.

Why DJs should play vinyl and not use computers
tommykesh replied to johnyboy's topic in DJ Headquarters
To reply to the initial article ( not the person posting) Firstly I learned the hard way on vinyl, but made the switch to serato not only for cost but also more fredoom. After you climb down from that 16ft tall pedestal you may want examine a few contradictions, such as: You mention hardware issues causing lag, what the fuck are you using to publish your silly rant on, a commodore 64 ? Most mid range to high end computers these days don't suffer from this lag you talk of. No crowd interaction, most skilled dj's can do more than just focus on the computer screen. I myself like to mix whilst smoking drinking and trawling the web in search for half wits to prove wrong (hey I found one) You mention Carl Cox , dumb ass he has been using Traktor for some time now, you may want to jump on dj mags web site and read an article in the tech section, which talks about what equipment he is using and why. Two mixes or scratches never sound the same on vinyl, scratches maybe but mixes, start from the same cue and cut it or eq the same as what you did before and it's pretty much so gonna same the sound as did last time. Theres plenty more to poke the stick of ignarence but im too busy pushing the limits of sound while mixing on my Vinyl/digital hybrid format........................ EADU
