It's all sweet now guys i have a 2nd chance to right my wrongs by luckily progressing through in the comp, so i'm going to see if i can get hold of some decks for a day and get my head around the mixer (mostly want to get comfortable with the effects more than anything else) and obviously cueing haha

Fair enough, from what i was googling around they usually drop there set in early july so im guessing around the same time as stereo and such.

Knife party was fair hekkas, but i would narrow it down to Magnetic Man, Guiseppe Ottiviani and Above & Beyond.

IMO hot cues beat hot loops hands down, so much more useful, I have never seen someone use hot cues on 2000's for anything BUT a makeshift drum machine. Baaack on topic Sometimes I have found I haven't been able to use the master cause the master volume isn't up high enough (My audio volume is controlled by my mixer, not my amp) Edit: you beat me to it I'll probs like them more once i get a chance at playing around with them, really starting to think i need to throw away the controller and buy some cdjs and mixer but with no money that ain't happening anytime soon The main reason i got all flustered last night was my damn controller the cue/master dial obviously works on a pre channel instead of post so i always hear whats being played aslong as the faders are at 100% Ah well t'was a good learning experience plus also found out what tracks were a swing and a miss

Using DJ in the same sentence as this guy is morally wrong. Yeah, that's not on. I was slightly worried when he asked me that I think i understand were i've gone wrong last night, because the master channel was only fairly quiet and the amp gear being driven much louder when i've switched from cue to master (having the master cue enabled) i could barely here it, SOOOOOOOOOOO if i get another chance i want to see if i can turn down the amp and increase the master channel so it balances out oooor not?

defiantly moved the master/cue dial around to notice the difference between cue and master. I think about 30 min i pressed the master cue button but doesn't that just send the sound into the cue channel not the master side of it? I've just about 10 different posts about what i just done too on diff forums... i must have just been a spastic because i couldn't the sound when split. i feel like such a dumbass

It did have the bpm reading but they must have been incorrect or something because they would get out of beat rather quickly There wasn't a monitor which was the largest issue, the only sound i could hear was a delayed output from the stage speakers :\ I just would have thought, if had the mixer set to master on the mixing dial i should be able to hear the master channel then if i were to turn it between cue and master i should be able to select my cue and then monitor both... or am i just dreaming.

So i had a club gig tonight, first time i've used cdj 900's and Djm 900. I was fairly confident walking in only using pioneers ddj-s1 before for about a year (i don't use the visual beat guide, all beat matched through my headphones) Anyway, i loaded up my songs onto to my usbs... first couple dilemas.... cdj 900's don't have hot cues.... epic fail Couldn't for the life of me figure out why there was no master sound coming through the headphones jack when it was turned to master, i could only get cue sound... so i had to have both channels on cue... took some time to get used to that plus a crash course on not relying on bpm readings... But atleast i had one decent hour of mixing in the end, just a shame i didn't get some practice on the decks before i had to go... atleast the dj after me had no idea how to change the bpm from one track eg 130 to 128 on another... so looks like i may have come off on top... Obviously reading this will look like the two biggest rookies dj'ed at this club but hey, haters gonna hate. DOES anyone know what i could have fucked on the master phones voulme?
