The perfect set can't be formalised, its all about reading the crowd, live sets and mix tapes totally differ too, live sets are about hyping up the crowd, mix tapes are about keeping people interested with the technical transitions
i have a BCD 3000 which i use with my Virtual DJ so thats probably the closest i will get to CDJ's my cousin has a pair of CDJ800's which i have used, but i just can't seem to beat match without the beat wave infront of me
Sony acid pro i know its ancient but i find it simple and easy for me all i need is a bass and volume automation and the ability the cut the sample out of a song

hey guys, I am an amateur mixer and I specialise in pre mixed sets I don't mix live because I don't have the skill or the reaction for the CDJ's so I do my mixing in programs call me a fake or whatever but at least I am upfront about it.
