looks like a good unit, i still think however unless you are a serious cue junkie, the DDJ-S1 would be fine, i think this is moving away too much from the original pioneer feel of the old school CDJ, im so glad i have a DDJ-T1, i fear that these are the last of the CDJ controllers.... now all pioneer will do is start to follow in the traktor controller footsteps and move totally away from the layout DJ's have come to love it really is becoming a controllers world if you dont get me then check this out CDJ 2000 DDJ-SX DDJ-S1 i am kinda annoyed, Pioneer have always been one to really keep their own, this is a little stupid of them, i really hope the traktor equivalent isnt this controller based

ok so im starting to run out of space... i would like to make a computer that i can swap the drives when needed to make more room (e.g have 5x3tb drives now but maybe add more later or swap a couple of the 3tb's when 5tb drives come out etc...) pretty much i want this computer to be able to be upgraded as strage availability expands. i dont really want to limit myself on sata ports, so min 8 max 12 would be good, and this is only going to be run as a storage machine, so gigabit access to my network plus average CPU is what i guess i will want? im not too sure das why i need help! can anyone recommend a good system for under $1000 inc HDD's? i don't mind sacrificing some HDD's for now as long as i have about 6-12 TB that should do for now fanks!

i use traktor, but my usb soundblaster came with some recording software, which is good when i wanna record directly to mp3, but thats cause im digital, i guess it depends on what you use hey

i hate to point out the obvious but seriously apart from this being morally wrong its a stupid way to get tunes... anything you download from Youtube will be pretty bad quality, bad idea from the start, we dont really condone this software or behaviour, the conversion stuff isn't so bad but for DJ's all you need is Audacity, and please remember, everytime you rip a song off Youtube and play it in a set a DJ fairy looses his wings

i see what you mean overit but put it this way, should an artist sue when a DJ uses their song in a trainreck of a DJ set? if that was the Case I'm sure LMFAO would have their fair share of lawsuit cases LOL! technically all we are doing is a mini mix thats been presessionised (sequenced if you will) So I think legally speaking even if it does get the DJ a claim to fame, really in my eyes, they would only be getting there if they did it right, which is the same reason they would get noticed for being a good DJ, its like saying artists should sue because DJ's are getting popular off their songs from doing live sets... Most really good DJ's get a name off their track selection, I remember an old skool sort of semi amateur DJ steve play used to source the smoothest house remixes, and people loved his selection, but he got popular from the remixes he found. I say power to the masses, DJ's will always be messing around with songs, its what we do, its why we love DJing, because we make it sound our way that we want it to, we aren't claiming that its our own genuine sound, and i sure as well don't want any money for it

Mind opened..... awesome read, also the mashup is awesome! hahaha, anyways, this is how i have always thought of mashups, in all honesty, as long as you aren't looking to gain any financial monies for the individual song i guess you can't really get sued, what are you getting sued for? the money you have earnt from selling the song? i'm not selling it! a really good point was raised there, this has achally made me wanna start doing mashup's again
