  2. SHUCKA TOURS PROUDLY PRESENTS: CONCORD DAWN, STATE OF MIND & Mc WOODY Friday August 17 @ Coniston Lane Set Times 8-9 Able 9-10 Hydrophonics 10-11 D-Ron 11-12 P.C.D 12-1.30 Concord Dawn 1.30-3 State Of Mind 3-5 Kurrupt B2B Pascoe Tickets available from: https://www.facebook.com/events/292027387561782/ -Concord Dawn- Concord Dawn’s Matt Harvey is back at his best with his forthcoming album Air Chrysalis, which will be made available for FREE download from Monday 11 June from www.concord-dawn.co.nz. Selected singles are also being made available online for free download every three weeks as tasters leading up to the June release, including first single ‘Electrocute’ which is up today on the site. It’s been two years since Concord Dawn’s critically acclaimed album The Enemy Within, and a year since The Race To Zero EP. Matt Harvey, based in Vienna, has continued to tour the world (most recently India) and decided that this time it would be fitting to make Air Chrysalis available exclusively online and for free, rather than creating a physical CD. "I have a bunch of tunes and just want to get them out to as many people as possible - without having to cut down any trees or using much oil," says Matt. Concord Dawn has come a long way since bursting onto the scene mid-1999 with a unique high-octane Drum and Bass sound. Starting out as a duo of Evan Short & Matt Harvey, Concord Dawn have been bNet and alt radio darlings nationwide, taken out numerous awards and established themselves with a strong national and international following. Air Chrysalis will be Concord Dawns’ 6th studio album to date. Concord Dawn will follow up the official album release with a nationwide tour in July, with dates being announced shortly. Get your FREE download of first single ‘Electrocute’ now from: www.concord-dawn.co.nz -State of Mind- Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand, State of Mind are the duo of Stu Maxwell and Patrick Hawkins. Beginning their careers in 2005 SOM have become notoriously prolific producers with releases on a broad spectrum of labels throughout the dnb scene. Material can be found on the shelves via CIA Recordings, Teebee's Subtitles Records, Friction's Shogun Audio, Viper Recordings, Doc Scott’s 31 Records, Concord Dawn’s Uprising, Bad Company, BSE & Obsessions, Project 51, Samurai and more. Not happy being mere producers and djs, SOM Music was launched in 2009 and is now regarded as a premier niche label in its own right. SOM Music is home to artists like Nymfo, Black Sun Empire, Spinline, Jade, Mindscape, Dose, Borderline and Tiki Taane to name a few. State of Mind released their first full CD ‘Take Control’ on Uprising Records in 2006, an album that garnered them the publicly voted award of ‘Breakthrough Artists of the year’ on the B-Net radio network in NZ, and a nomination for a prestigious NZ Music Award. In March 2009 they released their second LP, 'Faster than Light' on their own label SOM Music. Their third album called 'Nil By Ear' was globally released in April 2011, peaking at number 5 in the NZ Charts. This was also nominated for a NZ Music Award. State Of Mind are the former hosts of the hugely popular ‘Next Level” 95BFM drum n bass show. The show has now been relaunched in monthly podcast format due to popular demand. With his hip hop flows quirky antics, and quick tongue, he is best described as a crowd mover. "I try and create gravity within my sets to move the crowd and keep aware of the energy flowing through us" He has played alongside many international Drum n Bass, Electo, Dubstep DJ's. such as State Of Mind, Nero, Danny Byrd, The Brookes Brothers, Shockone, Break, Agent Alvin, Aston Shuffle, Bulletproof, Dirty Needlez and the list goes on. "The coolest time in my life at the moment is being the MC for State Of Mind (Live), this act has the most energy and it is great to play with two of the dopest producers of drum n bass ever, especially at a large festival, it is a mixture of madness and bliss at the same time" If you see MC Woody on the bill at any festival, club, rave in any genre, make sure you get some extra energy. PHAT said "undoubtebly NZ's best badman on the mic" If you can keep up with our very own BOY OF CHAOS then you are doing just fine. Look out for recordings in the not so distant future. 4. Shucka Tours Proudly Presents: LOGISTICS (HOSPITAL RECORDS / UK) SAMBORA & P-DIGSSS (SHAPESHIFTER, HOSPITAL RECORDS / NZ) TALI (AUDIOPORN, FULL CYCLE / NZ) Local support from: P.C.D. Blatwax Tweak & MunkyBar Thursday July 5 @The Hi-Fi 125 Boundary Street, West End $30+BF earlybirds / $40+BF 2nd release from http://www.moshtix.com.au, HiFi and usual outlets More on the door / 7:30pm-1am http://www.facebook.com/shucka.tours LOGISTICS (HOSPITAL RECORDS / UK) grew up on a self-prescribed musical diet made up of equal parts guitar-based compositions from bands such as Rage Against The Machine and down tempo efforts from labels like Mo’ Wax. Matt Gresham a.k.a Logistics, younger brother of Dan Nu:Tone, railed against the music his brother would listen to and finally acquired a taste for Drum + Bass through the Full Cycle “Music Box” LP. “That LP was like down tempo tunes with double time beats!” he explained, “I’d always been into stuff like Mo’ Wax and that album, particularly ’11.55′ by Roni Size & DJ Die had the same vibe that I could relate to.” Having a brother already signed up to Hospital didn’t qualify Matt for an ‘automatic in’ and it wasn’t until he sent “Replay” down to the office, swiftly followed by Fabio and Grooverider picking up on the tune, that he got his chance to work on his own album project. Having just left college this was a great opportunity for Logistics and he made the very best of it, working solidly on creating masterpieces in the form of “Together”, “Spacejam”, ”The Trip” and “Release The Pressure” (the only previously released tune on the album) and bridging the gap between liquid funk, which, until then had often been a lacklustre sub-genre and a more exciting, dance floor orientated variety of Drum + Bass. It’s Logistics’ influence that has been picked up by the major DJs in the scene such as Andy C and Friction, and his anthemic creations have contributed greatly to the modern Hospital sound. The LP itself “Now More Than Ever“ (released in the autumn of 2006) was a hugely ambitious project, restraining no less than twenty four speaker-busting tunes beneath its calm exterior. In 2007 Logistics also submitted his “Medical History”. Eighteen months on, having scooped “Best Album” at the 1xtra Bass awards for his debut album, Logistics dropped his second long player “Reality Checkpoint“. Rammed full of genre-bending goodness it was heralded as a glimpse of the future with dubstep and electronica influences fusing together with the anthemic Logistics sound. 2008 saw the Luke Skywalker of the ”Future Sound Of Cambridge” drop the massive track “Cosmonaut” and feature on several awesome collabs with Commix and brother Nu:Tone, keeping sub basses across the land pounding for the rest of the year. Having been locked away deep in the Degobah system making tracks, 2009 was time for Logistics to unleash the full power of the force with the onomatopeic “Crash Bang Wallop“, smacking dancefloors and stereos hard. 2011 saw Logistics busying himself in the studio, with his track “Closer” featuring on the “Fifteen Years Of Hospital Records” album towards the end of the year and providing a taster of what’s to come next. Lo and behold, Logistics is ready to dish up more musical mayhem in 2012 in the form of a brand new album project, "Fear Not". “We Are One” – the lead single from the album - was released in March, swiftly followed up by the full album “Fear Not” which is out now on Hospital Records. Arguably more cohesive and ambitious than his previous efforts, the album covers a variety of tempos and styles, but is still 100% Logistics to the core. Sit back and enjoy the ride! www.hospitalrecords.com/artists/logistics/ www.logisticsdnb.com/ www.facebook.com/logisticsdnb www.twitter.com/#!/logisticsdnb SAMBORA & P-DIGSSS (SHAPESHIFTER,HOSPITAL RECORDS / NZ) Get set to party as Shapeshifter representers Sambora and P.Digsss hit Brisbane for the first time in aaaaaaages. Multi award winning and chart topping superstars of the NZ music scene, they have toured Europe & Australia extensively and along the way been signed to premiere DnB label Hospital Records. For this occasion the duo will be laying down a very special and exclusive extended set of heavy soul party vibes and vocals covering all the bases and no doubt absolutely tearing the roof off in the process. TALI (AUDIOPORN, FULLCYCLE / NZ) One of the most prolific MC's to come out of Drum and Bass in the last ten years, Tali's ability to freestyle and sing soulful, positive and intelligent vocals over the mix, has seen her stay top of her game. She has won numerous awards, released two new albums in the last year ("Dark Days, High Nights" - Audioporn Records) and toured the world extensively as both an MC and live act. Originally from a Dairy Farm in Taranaki, New Zealand, Tali moved to the UK ten years to follow her dreams of becoming a top international MC. After signing to the legendary Full Cycle Label owned and run by Roni Size, Tali went onto to release the first ever MC album 'Lyric on my Lip' with a UK top 40 single and worldwide tour. From here she collaborated with some of the scene's most prolific names in both production and DJ/MC shows, working alongside people such as Goldie, Fabio and Grooverider, Shy FX, Benga, Dodge and Fuski, SkisM, Shapeshifter, Dirtyphonics, Calibre, Ed Rush, The EZ Rollers, The Freestylers, HIgh Contrast, DJ Marky.. the list goes on. Tali has hosted shows from intimate club venues to Festival stages with thousands in attendance, and last year saw the release of her Sophomore album 'Dark Days, High Nights' in two parts, one an electronic version and the other a live acoustic recording produced by the legendary Ant Miles. Now based back in New Zealand, and currently working on a new album, Tali is unique in her ability to both free style and sing, write and compose, teach and mentor, and is therefore one of the most credible and dynamic artists currently touring Australasia to date.

At the Age of 8 Icicle first started playing piano and soon got onto the drum kit. It wasn't long until he started making beats using an old school midi set-up and aged 15 he became hooked on drum and bass after going to local night "Jungle Galaxy". Getting some turntables and better music making software followed and Icicle was on his way. After releasing music on highly respected labels such as RAM, Shogun Audio, Soul:R, Renegade Hardware and Critical, Icicle thought it was time to make the move to England and at the end of 2008 he did. From London he can now fully focus on his musical career, Djing regularly around the world but more importantly working in the studio. Icicle has committed to DJ Friction’s Shogun Audio imprint and has begun work on his debut LP. SpectraSoul - UK (Shogun Audio) http://www.soundcloud.com/spectrasoul SpectraSoul have a reputation among Drum & Bass heads that's second to none. Vital members of DJ Friction's irrepressible Shogun Audio movement, the duo have released music on only the very finest, most respected labels in the scene. Beautifully deep and etched with grove, yet powerful enough to move any dancefloor, SpectraSoul's stunning musical productions are a far cry from the soulless, synthetic rave fodder so many unfortunately associate with Drum & Bass today. Tracks such as 'Alibi' for Critical,'Melodies' for Exit, 'Guardian' on Metalheadz and their stunning collaborations with Alix Perez on 'Forsaken' and dBridge on 'Glimpse', have insured SpectraSoul are one of the most talked about and respected acts in D&B today. The Upbeats - NZ (Non Vogue) http://soundcloud.com/theupbeats Terror Snake and Downie Wolf are The Upbeats, one of the most legendary production/DJ teams to emerge out the fertile New Zealand drum and bass scene. With a decade of experience behind them, The Upbeats have toured the world. Along the way, they've released three albums and countless internationally distributed classic singles. Favouring a digital pub-rock sound in the club and genuine emotion when it comes to home listening, their sound/attitude has seen them work with, or remix for Ed Rush and Optical, Noisia, Gridlock, Hive and many others. And still, for this duo, the best is yet to come. MC Tali - NZ (Full Cycle) http://soundcloud.com/mctali Tali is accredited with being one of the most successful female MCs in Drum N Bass of all time. With three DnB Awards, a solo album, numerous singles and guest vocals under her belt, Tali has MC’d all around the world with many of the scenes heavyweights. Discovered by Roni Size back in 2001, Tali moved from New Zealand to the UK to sign to the legendary 'Full Cycle Records' and went onto write and record the first female MC album ever released in DnB - 'Lyric on My Lip' Full Cycle 2004 (and one of the first ever MC albums fullstop!) with production from Roni Size, Krust, Clipz, and DJ Die, with featured vocals from Dynamite MC. Crushington - NZ http://soundcloud.com/crushington Inspired to step outside of their box by a face-melting New Years Eve performance from Skream and Benga, for the last two years, Crushington have sonically sculpted their own, well-received take on dubstep. Lacking a developed knowledge of the genre, their unaffected explorations into different tempos and grooves have caught ears everywhere, leading to DJ support from N-Type, Jakes, Emalkay, Distance, Seven, Truth, Bulletproof, Datsick, Excision, Hatcha and Headhunter. Along the way, they've collaborated with, or remixed for Black Sun Empire, SPL, Truth, Optimus Gryme and Bulletproof. With high profile support and collaborations boiling over left right and centre and several boutique vinyl releases to their credit, DJ bookings across New Zealand and Australia have come quickly and to lauded receptions. Soulware - NZ (Optimus Gryme Recs, Bassweight, Organik Audio) https://www.soundcloud.com/soulware Aotearoa's finest live Dubstep electronica experience Organikismness - NZ (Protogen / Optimus gryme / Bassweight / Mindtech / Betamorph / Empathy / Extent / PHAT / Evasive / Organikismness / Fairtradeismness) http://www.organikismness.com New Zealand Based musician Organik_ism_ness (aka Harry Bretherton/ Soulware) is a name regarded by many as one of most prolific and talented up and coming producers of the last decade, his production has been referred to by some of the biggest names in the scene as some of the most visionary of our time. The unique style and energy of his performances has captivated audiences across Australia and New Zealand and the ground breaking new album " Form in Motion " stands as testament to the full spectrum sound Organikismness is known for throughout the worldwide Drum and bass and dubstep communities.

Recognised as an instrumental player in the Drum ‘n’ Bass movement, Andy C has become a global ambassador for Drum ‘n’ Bass, regarded as one of the greatest DJs to ever grace the wheels of steel. The founder of influential label Ram Records, Andy C has dedicated almost two decades of his life to the music he loves, jetting across the globe, showcasing his turntable mastery. Skills that have earned him a status as one of the most iconic and important figures in global dance music culture. Building further on an incredible career, the future is bright for this Drum ‘n’ Bass superstar. 2010 was the year of the Ram with Andy releasing ‘Nightlife 5’, the next installment of the highly regarded Nightlife mix series along with Ram Nights moving to underground dance superclub Fabric and the label signing a raft of fresh talent. Most recently, Andy has just completed a nine date run of his groundbreaking new audio visual show, "Alive" in the UK followed by a massive five date super-tour of Oz on the Stereosonic Festival and was recently crowned # 1 Drum ‘n’ Bass DJ for the 13th year running. The man they call the Executioner isn’t softening up...in fact, he’s sharpening his axe. Mc Gq Alongside Andy C will be MC GQ. GQ is a DJ's MC, seeing his role as a middle man between the DJ and the crowd rather than constantly demanding centre stage. This approach has kept GQ at the top of the MC ranks for 15 years and making him partner to many of the top flight DJs. Alongside Hype at One Nation to Goldie at a Metalheadz Session, his versatile style means he can keep the crowd bubbling to a liquid set then switch up to double time and tear down a rave. Camo & Krooked Austrian duo Reinhard Rietsch and Markus Wagner are Camo & Krooked. In a short space of time they have become one of the hottest production outfits in Europe. Producing together since 2007, Grooverider hailed them as “one of the biggest talents in Drum ‘N’ Bass”. The Viennese duo have created a whirl of dancefloor anthems in recent times; releasing dancefloor bombs like ‘Turn Up the Music’ ‘Watch it Burn’ and ‘Climax’ on Hospital Records With a swag of killer releases, the duo are now signed exclusively to Hospital Records. Thanks to their first class studio work, Camo & Krooked have a hectic DJ schedule, touring the globe on the back of their debut album ‘Cross The Line’. Cross The Line is a fourteen-track rollercoaster ride of emotive dance that firmly establishes Camo & Krooked as dance leaders outside of the Drum ‘N’ Bass sphere, delving into dubstep, drumstep, electro-house and everything in between. Fierce Considered to be a DJ’s DJ, Fierce has been at the forefront of the Drum ‘n’ Bass scene since the mid 1990’s. Known as the Tech Step era, Fierce first made a name for himself on the genre-busting imprint, No U-Turn since the tender age of 16. Since then Fierce has defined the scene with his own exciting brand of energetic Drum ‘n’ Bass. In 2009, Fierce launched his own label, Quanrantine, working alongside producers Break, Optiv, D-Bridge and Silent Witness. Fierce has long been known as one of the most exciting and energetic DJs in Drum ‘n’ Bass, with his mad skills translating from the decks to the studio, and by decks, he means turntables as Fierce still holds an insatiable love for dubplates and vinyl. Fierce brings sounds from across the spectrum and uniquely fuses them to create a new and fresh sound every time. Jakes (Hench) Jakes is many things to many people, to some he is the voice of TC’s smash hits ‘Deep’, ‘Drink’ and ‘Mindkiller’, to others he is the Daddy of Bristolian Dubstep crew H.E.N.C.H and to musical historians he is one of the most interesting vocalists that underground British music can lay claim to. Never afraid to break from tradition and roll with his own flow, Jakes’ voice has become one of the most... recognizable in the game and his energetic live performances see him traveling across the globe and smacking down raves from Bristol to Boston with his inimitable style. A wicked support line up selected for this event will keep the pace and pressure up from start to finish! Set times: 9pm Duos (Low Ammo/Praxis) 10pm Lincoln (PBX) 11pm De la Haye (Rukus) 12am THE UPBEATS (NZ) 2am Kurrupt (Basscreepz) 3am D-Trap (NZ) $20 on the door Upstairs @ StepInn, corner Brunswick St & St. Pauls Tce, Valley Casual dresscode THE UPBEATS (NZ) Non Vogue, Virus, Lifted, Renegade Hardware, Project 51, Bad Company presents, Project Human) http://www.myspace.com/theupbeatsnz As much influenced by fresh Vogel's toast, indoor cricket, eighties glam rock stage costumes and just the right amount of hermitism as they are informed by Jamaican dub, Memphis funk, Detroit techno and the timeless musical traditions of folk and bluegrass, Jeremy 'Terror Snake' Glenn and Dylan 'Downie Wolf' Jones are The Upbeats, an internationally renowned New Zealand based drum and bass production outfit turned ...DJ duo who just aren't like the others. Abstracting inspiration for their production name from Lee Scratch Perry’s 1976 release The Upsetters: Super Ape back in the watershed year of 1998, The Upbeats (otherwise known as the Big Skeleton) have cut a unique and unclassifiable figure on the global drum and bass circuit since formally emerging back in 2001. Signed up locally by Loop Recordings Aotearoa for their debut album release in New Zealand in 2004, The Upbeats soon drew themselves to the attention of drum and bass overlords Bad Company, who picked them up for the international release of their sophomore concept album Nobody’s Out There, on Bad Taste Recordings in 2008. Working concurrently, The Upbeats established their own label Non Vogue, to release their second album in New Zealand and push their unique direction in drum and bass overseas. While those kettles were boiling on the stove, The Upbeats were busy building a strong and loyal fan base across the planet though extensive touring alongside the likes of Grooverider, Andy C, Concord Dawn, Shapeshifter and Dieselboy. With most of Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand crossed off the list, The Upbeats can even lay claim to having performed in Siberia, where their sound was incredibly well received to say the very least. Making this kind of noise and having Bad Company’s blessing did have its repercussions, and the likes of Virus Recordings, Soul:R, Project Human, Subtitles and Violence Recordings came door knocking for material for single releases, safely securing The Upbeats a seat at the same table as drum and bass’ current generation of ruling scene leaders across the planet. That’s not what makes The Upbeats special though, that’s just the facts and figures. What sets The Upbeats apart is their character and influences as artists and individuals. Self-depreciating in humor and iconoclastic in approach, The Upbeats unique 21st century urban pub rock breakbeat fueled sound injects just the right dose of fluro, sweatbands, mullets and midi-triggered live reese basslines into drum and bass’ often formulaic, faceless nature. Writing about music however, as Elvis Costello once said, really is like tap dancing to architecture, so come down to a show and see what all the fuss is about for yourself. You will party, you will have fun, and life will be good. http://www.basscreepz.com http://www.facebook.com/delahaye.rukus

With a production and DJing career spanning some 20 years, he has recorded for some of the best known labels and performed at prestigious events around the UK and abroad. Tango’s music has graced the record boxes of pretty much every well known Drum & Bass DJ, and his influence can be heard throughout many forms of dance music today. The son of acoustic guitar virtuoso Gordon Giltrap, it was fairly inevitable Jamie would become involved in music in some form, however his influences were to be considerably different. Having been heavily into Electro and Hip Hop since the early 80s, he began DJing in around 1989, learning to scratch and later entering the UK DMC heats. Tango’s first taste of playing big rave venues came when he filled in for the warm up DJ at Amnesia House at Donington Park in 1991, which further confirmed his ambitions. He began sending out mix tapes and was soon booked by several promoters, one of the first being Pandemonium. Contact with DJ SS followed. He liked what he heard, and Tango’s first EP “Impact” was soon released on DJ SS’ newly formed Formation Records imprint. The EP was well received, and “Factor 5” became the first of Tango’s tracks to be played by the iconic DJ Grooverider. The EP also marked the beginning of Tango’s association with DJ Ratty, who was the first to play his tracks on dub plate. A string of further releases and remixes followed for Formation, including his now classic remix of “The Grand National” which again caught the attention of Grooverider (amongst a host of others) and the rare “Tango Project” white label, which now changes hands for large amounts on the internet. A turning point for Tango came in the form of “Future Followers.” Originally intended as a limited edition white label, it became a firm favourite for Grooverider (who once commented that it was “too dark for Tango”) for several months to come, and attracted interest from the likes of Doc Scott, Ratty, DJ Sy and Seduction, among others. Tango had also produced the seminal “Tales From The Darkside” EP with Ratty, which had sold more than any of his previous releases to date. Tango’s DJ profile increased with his production success, and he had been taken on by the legendary Fibre Optic nights as a resident (who went on to host Birmingham’s Atomic Jam nights) and began appearing regularly alongside Ratty and DJ Fallout at various venues. More promoters became interested, with the likes of Amnesia House, Quest, Dance Trance, Obsession, Dreamscape, Equinox, Fantasia, Starlight, Total Kaos, Kinetic and Dance Planet all queing up to book Tango. Tango’s production work continued to be successful, and LTJ Bukem was also added to the ever- growing list of DJs who were playing Tango’s music. “Revelations”, a collaboration with DJ Fallout (which was written with Bukem in mind) had become a feature of his sets, and continued to be for some time. Goldie had also taken a big interest in Tango, and he was soon added to the roster for Reinforced Records in 1994 alongside the likes of Peshay, Wax Doctor, Doc Scott, Rufige Cru, etc. However, Goldie left the label soon after to form Metalheads, and consequently none of Tango’s material was released on the label. During this time he also befriended Goldie’s right hand man DJ Randall, who has continued to support Tango’s music to this day. Tango had his first taste of national radio airplay in 1994, when the legendary John Peel played his re-working of Dance Conspiracy’s “Dub Wars” (“War For ’94) on his Saturday afternoon Radio 1 show. The track was currently being played by virtually every DJ on the circuit at that time. Tango had also started remixing tracks for Moving Shadow, including Foul Play’s “Open Your Mind”, Hyper On Experience’s “Disturbance” and two tracks for Cloud 9 (AKA Nookie) including “Jazzmin” which Pete Tong played on his Essential Selection show. Suburban Base also called on Tango’s remixing skills, with his mix of Jonny Jungle’s “Flammable” receiving widespread DJ Play. 1995 saw the beginning of Tango’s association with DJ Pulse’s Creative Wax imprint, with the massive “Understanding” and remixes of Alex Reece and Wax Doctor’s “Frequency” and another killer re- working of “Dub Wars” entitled “Final Conflict” released, showcasing Tango’s programming skills at their peak. Tango’s jazz- influenced ”Spellbound” became the theme tune to Austria’s telecoms service, and was to be used in their TV ads for several years to follow. His popularity in Europe also brought him DJ work in Germany and Switzerland. As the Rave anal begin to split up and die off in the late 1990s, Tango began to pull away from the scene, although his track “Fever” on Moving Shadow’s “The Transcentral Connection” was snapped by Lexus in 1997 to advertise their newest car on TV in Canada and the USA. After a short break, 2002 saw the release of several new tracks with Ratty, including tracks for Function, L Plates and Basement, as well as remixes for Total Science and Outrage. Grooverider duly welcomed him back by playing Tango & Ratty’s “Senseless” on his Radio 1 show. Tango also released “The Last Transmission” on his own Notch Records imprint (which has also been used extensively for TV) with Total Science’s remix of “Understanding” on the flip side. Feeling the need to branch out into other types of music, Tango also began producing 140bpm Breakbeat tracks with DJ Pulse, under the pseudonyms Apollo Kids, Initial Research and Quiet Killaz. Within a short space of time, the pair had released a number of well received tracks, and were getting support from the anal’s best known DJs, including Stanton Warriors, Krafty Kuts, Rennie Pilgrem, Tayo, Hybrid, and ex World DMC DJ Champion Chad Jackson. They went on to record material for several labels, including Distinctive, Mob, Fat!, TCR and Marine Parade. Highlights for the pair were their remix of Stanton Warriors’ “Da Virus” which again caught the attention of Pete Tong, and their UFO themed “Visitors” which typified their Drum & Bass influenced style of Breakbeat. In recent years, Tango has continued to play old school sets, with his focus being on slightly lesser known ’92 to ’94 darkside tracks. He is renowned for pulling out an unreleased VIP mix or two during his sets, and prides himself on offering something a bit different to the run of the mill music that a lot of old school DJs seem to have now opted for. His back to back sets with Ratty have continued to prove popular, and he has become a regular feature at events such as Birmingham’s Flashback, where he historically played a live P.A. set of exclusively remixed versions of his old tracks to a packed Que Club. Having become involved with Outrage and Modular’s Jungle Techno revival (J-Tek) during 2008, Tango continues to produce 145bpm tracks, and runs digital label Steel Fingers. He also still produces Drum & Bass, with several solo releases and collaborations in the pipeline, including projects with Outrage, Madcap and LJ High, amongst others.

The late 90's saw him represent at some huge events & stadiums to the likes of Auckland's Mount Smart Supertop, the Bruce Mason Theater and the very first edition of the outdoor NYE festival, Splore. A new century locked in residency's at some well respected club nights including AK's reputable and exclusive Dragon Bar where hooking up with MC Mana (Rhombus), Benwah (Honeyclawz - Austin TX) and DJ EZB (Bristol UK), he formed the crew "Thunderground" and proceeded to lay down large amounts of fresh technique and cutting edge experimental music. Regularly spinning against international & local veterans at AK's D&B haven FU Bar kept his skills tight on schedule, with frequent updates from killer NZ producers including Cern, Consequence, Teknik, Optimus Gryme and Concord Dawn. Gaining sponsorship from Noise Zealand Apparel and winning the well established Roll TV Mix Comp in NZ stands testament to the fact that he remains tight, dynamic & fresh in the mix and is no doubt harbouring a barrage of cutting edge music and tech - laden breakbeat grooves. Degeneration is now based in Melbourne and gearing up for the next level by forging a new underground collective, "Balance" and ever diversifying his selections into dubstep and slick, moody autonomic electronica. Widely considered a leader in the global bass movement, Scuba was one of the first producers to merge the emotive and futuristic moods of Techno to the dense, powerfull bass and fractured rhythms of Dubstep, paving the way for a then new wave of producers like Martyn and 2562 to take this idea to the next level, opening up a whole new dimension in the sound of modern bass music. As owner of seminal record label HOTFLUSH, he has signed some of electronic music's most innovative artists, in the early years nurturing the likes of BOXCUTTER, GRAVIOUS, DISTANCE and VACCINE.
