  1. Okay so we all know most dubstep tracks are created in 140bpm. I noticed when live its slightly faster, say around 144-150bpm? But it seems to have a better "flow" you could say.. Mixing at 140bpm makes me feel as if the tracks are playing for too long and then i feel as if i need to change the song immediately. how many bpm do you usually mix dubstep though?
  2. Just curios as tp why everyone wants be DJs.... il post my answer at some point aswell.
  3. Wondering if you Technic 1200 guys that talk about them being so durable if you guys got yours used or brand new.
  4. Since being a dj means that you are often the center of everyone's attention, what do you like to wear when you spin? Got a favorite t-shirt or some snazzy haircut?
  5. If you were playing the backing instrumental for a rapper at his performance, would you load up the MP3 or WAV file in Serato??
  6. song you've ever purchased? I was on Beatport the other day, and listened to the 2 minute demo of a kickin' song. Dirty bass, great melody, quirky but danceable, I bought it in a snap. Then I listened to it, and the only lyrics are "Where's the bathroom at? Cuz I really really really gotta pee"
  7. I was wondering if I should come up with a DJ name and use that or just use my name. If I do use a DJ name it will be DJ Reveille but I might just use my real name. What do you guys think and what do you do?
  8. I've found myself getting reliant on waveforms and getting way to comfortable selecting my tracks within Traktor. My beatmatching skill is washing away by simply matching bpm readings rather than actually listening. I'm quitting traktor, and just straightup using 2 cdj, CDs, and a mixer. Clean. Simple.
  9. I have been mixing for a while now and for the most part it is just for fun in my bedroom, making mixes for my car and work but now I've been asked by my friends to give them a mix. The only problem is that ive only ever mixed on cd players that take USB and so I've only ever played from USB. Ive played a couple of songs from CD but Ive never burned my collection to CD. It seems simple enough but I dont know the best way to arrange my music. By genre/mood/bpm/alphabetical? I'm just curious as to how you guys arrange yours.
  10. Hey all, I'm the new guy here, just popping in to say whatsup! =D
