unofficial motto of DJ'ing lol.

The bpm counters are not 100% accurate, use it merely as a guide so you have a "general" idea of what the tracks bpm is. For tempo settings use +6%. It's the most accurate. By the way you can get most of this simple information anywhere by google searching it.

I'm In brisbane mate. It just makes no sense. The guys on the forum reckon it could be my cdj's or my laptop. Dont see it could be though because everything else is perfect. I need to work it out asap though because there's a cheap traktor scratch duo on ebay at the moment. So i want to pick that up if I cant get it to function properly. Also on top of the cue'ing, the adjusting of the pitch with the jog wheel doesn't feel right either. Switching back and forth to cd's and using mixvibes. It just does'nt feel as tight.

whatever you do dont buy cheap headphones, i guess it's not a big deal for mobile dj's, but for playing out its pretty important that you've got quality. sennheiser, xone, AKG or pioneer headphones imo. Id reccomend AKG k81. They were my first pair of headphones. really bassy. And I would compare them to HD 25's. only $100 too. I'm, also selling a pair for like $50

nah its not the latency, trust me. I've got it down to like 1ms or something. everything else is perfect except the cue'ing. makes no sense. Im trying to get help from these idiots on their forum. fkn useless though.

Heres a good vid from bass kleph explaining how to set up traktor/serato or any dvs without shitty multicore cables and even without touching the mixer.

It was probably a guest dj, i remember a few weeks back mos on facebook made an update saying to tune into triple J, it was like solveigs special creamfields guestmix or some shit.
-
man fuck it, the cue'ing on it is shit and is'nt working for me, and adjusting the pitch with the jog wheel is laggy too. everything else is good though. Can anyone with traktor tell me if cueing on it with cdj's feels like a using a normal CD? also what about adjusting the pitch with the jog wheel? If it's good ill pick one up second hand.

fuck yeah do it. but seriously throw it up on ITM buy/sell forum or on ebay. -
My bad didn't mean to sound like I was hating or anything, I have bought stuff from you guys in the past from the Brisbane store. Just thought it was funny seeing that on an advertisement. I agree most of the prices you guys have are fairly reasonable.

So i picked up mixvibes a few weeks ago because I like to waste money and it was cheap compared to other DVS's. Anyway I cant really compare because it's my first DVS, I was always against cdj laptop dj'ing (not vinyl) but decided to give it a crack and see what it's like. Mixvibes have apparently dubbed cross as being the ultimate timecode. Also when I picked this up from lightsounds they mentioned it was there best selling DVS at the moment. So it was pretty easy to set up, got something like 1ms of lag so it feels like im using cd's. From what I have read though it's considered sort of a "bare-bones" dvs compared to traktor and serato, not really many bells and whistles.... think of it like a digital record box. which is why its cheaper im guessing. Although there's still a few effects on there, and you can do looping ect ect. So has anyone else here used mixvibes? and are able to compare to the big guns traktor and/or serato. Finally I'm having some issues with the cue'ing with my cdj's using the software, if anyway wants to give me a hand with it check out the whole story here: http://forum.mixvibes.com/viewtopic.php?f=268&t=20309

yeah most of the time i mix in my headphones, just habit i guess. Worked out well because i mostly play at bars and hotels so usually they dont have monitors or there not working.
-
cheers guys, had a good chat to some of you guys in the chat room last night. (actually it was mostly shit talking...but yeah) Anyway seems like a sweet place, might have to stick around.
-
yeah i mean it sounds good if done properly, but most people just drop that sterotypical radio dj voiceover and its cheezy as shit. eg: "you're in the mix with dj ect ect" But yeah how a-trak does it is good.

lol 20/hr. get fucked. There rates are pretty cheap though especially for a dj business.
