or you could build a "hackintosh" but unless your really good with computers i would suggest maybe not.

yeh mac's are good but i'm currently using a PC laptop which is fine. if your only using it for like serato PC would probably do the job. stability would be the only drama which shouldn;t be much of a problem. my custom built laptop PC is 4g ram 320g HD, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz Processor i'm using it for producing and its keeping up alright. It only cost $1900 a mac with the same specs was about $3400 i will be going mac soon mainly so i can use logic. in saying that i've heard that linux is more stable than both and it can run on PC and Mac

ah, ok gotchya now. umm i would go for 2 sounds that i think could work. 1. a simple bass sound.... maybe some sine wave action? but not to heavy. so when you push and speed up and slow down is has a good whine to it 2. pretty much the same reason why but a high pitched sound and pretty glitchy / distorted. kinda like a trance lead? just some ideas

i picked up my CDJ1000's mk3 at JB hi-fi for $1500 cash. and i looked at alot of places in brissy. dont be affriad to push the sales (wo)men either can some times work out well but i found JB the sales people pretty much just tell you straight up the lowest price.

yeh. watch that. sort of explains everything.

welcome. sounds like you have a pretty interesting job.

yep audio interface. so does Virtual dj not need is own purpose built box like serato? if not and all you need is audio to go from your computer to your mixer than this will do the job. but i fail to see how you would play 2 tracks from your computer at the same time without a specialized "spliter" or what ever box comes with serato Virtual DJ has this written in its specs' "Optional 3D sound card, 2 sound cards or Y-splitter for real-time monitoring or external mixtable use "

any one know of one? i guess a good example of the sound i'm chasing is "Bodyrox ft.Luciana - Yeah Yeah" but i do like the sound of the bass in this track
-
what do you mean by USB sound card? do you mean an Midi interface type thing? like an M-box?

i really wished i was established (still studying at SAE) Would love to have a go all the same. obviously no stings attached and some sort of contract as too me not releasing anything. also i have a radio show in brissy its on switch1197am but it also streams live on their site on the WWW. its only just starting out so data base iisn't massive yet but if you want any artists of yours played for a little bit of exposure i'd be more than happy to play any track sent to me, i can also pass them only the music director to see if they can get put on rotation if they like the tune.

i have used behringer in the past and have never had much trouble. After about 2 years the faders became a little staticy and the cross fader bleeds abit. i think for bang for your buck behringer is good but don't expect great things. i've checked out this new mixer a bit and all the buttons and things have put me off it abit quite frankly. EQ kills buttons i think are pointless and just another thing / button to get jammed and ruin a channel. plus of the mixer is how much you can customise everything plus with all those buttons would be rad as a midi controller. if any one else is wondering how much they retail for its around $625.00 good video of it here http://www.storedj.com.au/products/product.php?id=1490 also look it up on www.gearslutz.com they awesome for reviews.

ATM i'm - resident @ Bliss (ipswich, QLD) and have a radio show "Horror Disco" on switch 1197am (www.switch1197.com) monday nights 9-11pm www.djtomy.net i've done a fair bit over the past few years in the way of support gigs and dj-ing venues. bio is as follows TOMY : After dipping his feet into styles of hip-hop, trance and hardstyle and still not being satisfied, Tomy invested his talents wholeheartedly into electro/indie & house in early 2006. Earning a place in local breaks and electro trio Rhythm Division has since seen him regularly play some of Brisbane's most frequented venues including GPO, Birdee Num Num, Monastery, Empire, Basement 388, Planet, Barsoma and currently residing at Bliss as well as guest spots at The Velvert Unground (Cairns), Platinum Lounge(Macky) & Main Street(Macky).
