  1. yeah pretty chuffed with it so far plus my first bit of rack gear. i have assumed the same man, i'm sure its just a driver / software / something which will be updated shortly.
  2. finally got the new audio interface. Focusrite Saffire PRO 40 goes alright. works well but i've heard there is issues with forcusrite and the thunderbolt on the newer mac's. which i'm hoping will be fixed by the time the new mac pro hits the street. if you want to check out the specs and better pics of the unit check it here http://www.focusrite.com/products/saffi ... re_pro_40/
  3. good thinking.
  4. yeah you'll have to upgrade if you want all the ableton instruments, samples, etc.
  5. no local stages either i'm told.
  6. i'm fine with cover up to $10 unless its some massive booking. but if its $10 on the door, don't make your drinks $10 each thats just fucked
  7. nothing that really floats my boat personally, but I think they've done a good job this year in catering solidly for a few different genres should be a good 2 days
  8. electronica.
  9. hahaha yeah managed to pick that 1000 up at a reasonable price and it's a classic piece of gear. I don't use it too much not though because the machine is just so much easier to use.
  10. yeah i think i got mine for around 600 off gumtree. they speakers are pretty good on low end with out the sub i reckon but now i'm used to the sub i'm really liking it.
  11. yeah it sure is. I can't live without that sub now when it comes to mixdowns. I only have it turned up the tiniest bit though due to the size and shape of my room and i'm running a 80Hz cut on the 2 speakers so they don't fit for bass.
  12. he's also released on hi-tech
  13. hahaha just 3 jaded lads having a chat.
  14. i hate this term EDM for big room house / electro. EDM in my eyes covers all electronic dance of any genre. silly yanks. lol.
  15. yeah the fact sell tunes is turning into a business is quite sad.
  16. Yep they are Yamaha hs-80's and the sub is from the same family. I rate these speaker very true sound. The desk cost $425 plus about $100 postage. Probably spent about 150 on all the paint and shit too. Haha. But came up a treat. MDF sucks up the primer and paint like mad.
  17. Yo! so this came about because my studio room was freaking filthy plus i want to start getting some rack / outboard gear. This was the current state of the studio. so yeah messy. step one was to find a new desk. i got mine through a mob in melbourne called Nova forge. http://www.novaforge.com.au/ step 2. Paint desk. step 3. Put it together step 4. re organise gear. So thats the start of it. Some cables i need to tidy up etc. still to come speaker stands, new computer, Audio interface and compressor. Will upload photos etc when i get the other stuff.
  18. ^^ summarising if you claim to be a producer but you're not. You're an idiot. if you're a pop star etc and you need a producer a-o-k.
  19. i think we are forgetting the history or back story of producers a bit here. it's generally been a producers job to re-write and help people write music better. Think of a pop / indie bands they always talk about who produced the album for them and are actually happy to say we got such and such to produce the album cause he worked with the Beatles or whatever. Which is all well and good. its taken a bit of a weird road these days with the dj / producer thing and i think with dance music thats totally understandable. people like aoki or guetta shouldn't be getting other people to write there songs cause they are claiming to be the producer.
  20. finally working again....
  21. cleared the cache still no good. tried chrome on my PC still no good. must be sumfffin.
  22. tried safari and she's-a-still-a-no-guud
  23. that'd be right they sell it to old mate then it turns to shit almost instantly
