^ def, I dont know the guy but i'm guessing he isnt fronting in that rap. Hip hop should be all about telling it like it is. i know someone with a v.similar style over here, I'm asking him if he has soundcloud to point you at.
-
just found the hip hop forums and thought i ought to apologise for butting into everyone's convos like a rash! Normally i just go to "see new posts since last visit" but I'm slowly finding areas of more interest. great site Cupe.
-
good work. did he produce and rap?
-
^ haha cupe, how to scratch yer arse? that's £65 a session in my money, i used to charge £25 per hour in one to one sessions, private soundproofed fully equipped room with free car park. £45 if they wanted an hour alone on dex after to practice while recording. never could make a business out of it tho, lost too much money in the time it took to swap over between students. How long are the sessions this guy does?

The whole self-improvement or stfu attitude is excellent. I'm not that into the dissing though unless I'm sure it's in jks. I work as a teacher sometimes and it's all about supportive feedback. i'm also mad for the "each to their own" thing obviously.

^outstanding. I love seeing people flare and crab coz i never learnt those techniques. especially flares. Post vids mate?

Hip hop is a way of life. TBH I'm not a big part of it but i recognise it and apply some it's philosophies to my life. I hate that the media consider it just a music scene.

^ crunddy you're so hiphop its brilliant mate. 1200s or 1210s, MKIIs. Nothing else has the build quality. gone out of production but built like tanks, buy a pair now, look after them, DO NOT MOD IN ANYWAY, they'll have iconic antique value in the future. Too many fools mod their dex and kill their value which is why good units will get rarer and rarer now that production has stopped. Being out of production isnt a problem as any professional electrical engineer can repair them as there are no microchips or fancy bells or whistles to brake. not the best sound quality but the industry standard reliable torque and build quality. plus did anyone mention iconic value? If you cant find new mkII or if the price is already going through the roof then stanton st 150 better than technics mkIII, mkV or 2nd hand mkII IMO.

Not sure if this one's already in here but last night I had this 'orrible bint bringing out this classic spin: "i'm going at 11pm but really want to hear all my favourite songs before i go, can you play.... blah blah blah" I'm thinking: it's not your party, you're not even repping me enough to stay, and yet you want me to drop all the bombs now, just for you, before anyone else is warmed up and ready to rock to them. even if the bombs in question were shite (this is a function) the principle remains... dont waste your best ammo until the targets in your sites. I decided on a standard answer for this last night: "Oh sorry mate this is (the clients name)'s party and I've got to do what she/he wants, if you want to get everthing your way here's my card... I'm always available"
-
^ yes eggs, and rectangle, and early scratch perverts sets for combos.

similar TBH, told to turn the music down twice, similar talky vibe for 1st few hours... ... once we got rid of the lightweights it was all systems go with ska, two tone and punk rock: the specials, the beat, the selector, the clash, iggy pop... Even though it was a 50th they were mad for it, mini mosh pit, pogo-ing etc.. some blood but no ambulances needed.. enjoyed it.
-
haha, pogue ma hone... have you listened to my mixes without the distraction of the pictures? the mixes are well sloppy, the beatmatches are ruff as fuck and none of the loops are tight... cheers tho, i'm working on it and all these props sure help a guy grow in confidence!
-
^ouch, bob marley said: " a hungry man is an angry man." only horse related thing I can think off is the theme to black beauty or the william tell overture. they get played to represent horses on telly and film a lot... crap suggestion but may work in a tongue in cheek moment?

This is my new favourite thread. top work capsss
-
^ i feel the man is on yo back mate? i've got a 50th birthday tonite, quite local but still gotta drive the P.A. so no grog for me. no beats but ok playlist otherwise tho: punk/ska from the 70's 80's so the clash, the specials, the beat, the ramones etc...

^When I hitched from sydney to townsville one of my rides was two guys who'd modified their dashboard to hold a bong. Apart from pimping the stereo that's the only mod I think cars need. And thank fuck for my new disguised ID, i can say what i like now!

Cheers guys^ eggs: I use a hercules steel midi controller, it's only doing browser, loops and cues. Not sure what you're on about "vocal mices"? but kind of scared of you "hitting out at me again" jks! Let me know what you're on about ey? but beatport comp? I never knew about that, not even gone to that section of forum! Does anyone know how much it costs for all the tunes? I love mixing tunes someone else has chosen! and yer... so proud of my youngest for that shizzle.
