This thread didnt exist before these gigs so this is retrolog: I spent tues - fri in a field/doof/festival a bit mashed up....Some of the crew said I played a bit but no one is entirely positive, we just took over stage for an aft/eve on thurs and people seemed happy. then did a skatepark opening yesterday (saturday), lord mayor covered in gold and cutting the opening ribbon. Pretended i couldnt hear him and started playing RATM killing in the name of (cued from the sweary bit) during his speech... all the skater bois just went off. Mayor had to try and pick his way out of the bowl amongst about a hundred 1st day nutters haha. then did a wedding in the eve, it was so shit they enjoyed the grease megamix, a little bit of fire in my soul went out. bloody mary for sunday brekkie today, tired now.

i dont know about virtual memory mate. IMO you cant beat a nice PCB of hardware of RAM. I wouldnt lose all the internet stuff tho, you'll still want to do updates. Just disable the wifi adaptor in device manager and turn the internbet security shit off when you dont need it. chk the link from wazza above mate.

cheers man, good to have some reliable knowledge. i like scratch live. I agree i should get the V7 but the whole point of this set up is to be lightweight and for the ease of set up so I am avoiding modular rigs. I'll still have my cdj1000 and traktor scratch pro for big gigs, and i'll still have my 1210s for home. This NS6 rig is just for functions/mobile gigs and bar slots and I think the ns6 is the best all-round and all in one box controller for my style.

You prob know all this mate but just in case: the 30 day thing sounds same as most products, it's their way of advertising it to you. On some of these products you are allowed to install on two machines so you can have a gig and studio synth. If you can find someone who only needs one install you may be able to persuade them to allow you to use their code to unlock the demos. ...the only other way i know is a crack code mate. I believe it is quite easy but i wouldnt recommend searching for a crack code on google as it's unreliable, you never know what you may be downloading, and it's basically theft of the software developers work... Still you may be more adventurous than me.

Are you aware of the unwritten rule: whenever the filth turn up at a gig you're playing at you have to play one or both of the following: if they come hassle you you then say: "in all innocence officer I just love the tune. I didnt see you there." or if you're really brave: "there's no whales on me drugstable!"

that's totally normal for a beginner mate. at least you have got the beatmatch down. just rewind the songs and practise mixing once they're matched. and keep practising. whether you buy some or not depends on your income. i would just take every opportunity to play until i was sure it was something i wanted to invest in.
