On a scratch mixer you need an adjustable cross fader curve so you can set it to be at full volume when only very slightly open. Also no buttons or anything in the way so you can curl your fist round to crab at it. I dont know if the mc6000 has either of these but thats what you wanna look out for.

haha, no idea, I think the dye goes in with plastic and no paint is involved at all... i meant like a hippy would say: "black is heavvvvyyyyyyy mannnnnnnnnnn" or maybe they're just racist and want people who like black to work harder.
-

I started trying to think of an answer to that for ya Hoddi.... but then my brain melted.

^ sounds like you have a foot in the door. Play whenever they offer you the chance but show them your range of abilities i.e. ask what they want: to hear your best banging set right away or for you to read the room and do a warm up if that's what seems suitable at the time. Always have a demo CD ready to give over but hope they dont need it if they hear you live. What lloyd said too. Keep it mellow and cool and do it friendly, you've got time. P.S. Keep your eyes open tho, you may not be the only one with this plan...

edit II: I'm Spartacus cheers Cupe.

it's true. You have to be lady gaga or similar high profile sell out to really strike it rich in this game. But if you have the skill and work hard you can get lucky, eg: My cousin was in a band called "Pogue ma hone" for about 15 years slogging it round crappy bars and folk festivals for nearly no income. Then he wrote and played the piano intro for that song called "fairytale of new york." They changed the name of the band to "The Pogues" (coz pogue ma hone means kiss my arse in celtic). Coz it was a successful selling song and more important coz it was a successful christmas single, it has been included on every xmas compilation album ever since, and gets played on loads of telly/radio every year. He still gigs but basically hasnt really needed to work since that one song made it for him. Lives in hollywood now. "i'll get lucky" doesnt really cut it with the bank manager as a business plan though does it?

s'all good, i didnt really need to add a "jks" to that post did I? how about: "rest of the world" "alien species" or "crazy poms" i'd join any of those. and happy monday to ya bro.

I love gigs, especially mad house parties where you totally buzz of a small crowd, done it all my life.... but of course I'd love to sell out, get lucky and rule the world as a famous and rich producer able to DJ massive stadiums when I want. ...coz I'm old and need a pension plan.

remembered and used one last night: stone roses: "resurrection" 8 minutes of draining the lizard. Good track too IMO.
