  1. I have a wireless power board that has a remote for each port. sometimes I mess with it or use it to turn everything off before putting the strobe on. DMX in a mobile setup is way too much work. Simplicity is the key to a good mobile setup. The only time I'd use DMX is with moving heads, and even then id just put one on sound activated and make the other a slave.
  2. My Logitech keycaps are pieces of shit and I need replacements. This has happened for every control key. the way my hand sits on the keyboard it pushes on the corner of the key. Does anyone know where I can buy replacements that will fit?
  3. I stand by my points but whatever floats your boat.
  4. Yay I'm referenced. In my experience the best and pretty much only way to get gigs is word of mouth. Sure you can try gumtree adds and such but I've never witnessed them do that much. Having a Facebook page is also nice, and looks good when people try to search you. However I would only use it for peoples reference when they do search you, as Facebook's default reach is pathetic. Unless 3 people like each post next to no one will actually see it in their feeds. But again, WORD OF MOUTH really is the biggest key. Absolutely the biggest key. Do well at a gig, give out business cards to people who approach you or request stuff, or even come to say thanks after a gig. Also make sure to have them in easy access during the night also (for people who approach). 100% of my gigs these days are from chaining gigs. If I do well at a gig il give out about 10 business cards around the end + whatever is taken during the night. From that I usually receive 5 call backs or enquiries (FB adds etc also), and from that I usually receive 1-2 bookings. Just keep that word of mouth going and give every gig your all, show that you put the effort in and watch it grow
  5. It's the money that gets me the most, I may have been a tad too strong with my original post. But I'm no wannabe, nor am I huge. I myself would never recommend ever doing gigs for free. If you are making money and paying other services, such as security etc etc blablabla. You should pay your dj's fairly. It's not like there just throwing these hours around. An honest set's work deserves an honest sets pay. "Exposure" is not a currency that pays for fuel. I've done events from club gigs, weddings, private party's and primary school disco's. If a primary school can afford to pay a DJ for a fundraiser event, and still make money on top with a minimal entry fee, so can you.
  6. Mate pay people for their time. Don't be a cheap shit and jerk people around. who says you wont just ditch em and get some others after the first night. Show some backbone and actually pay your dj's. It's not like you're not earning anything from this.
  7. just get it from dick smiths instead and save shipping prices
  8. I Usually just pray to god that rekordbox has actually exported my music correctly.
  9. I'm literally holding one of those to spread my nutella atm. Their pree good.
  10. I've found with traktor it either works or in doesn't work at all. AKA. If you install it and it works fine, it will always work fine. If you install it and it works like garbage, it will always be garbage. If you can get it to work Id use it as the stuff you can do with it/things it supports are cray Serato intro is decent, if it comes free with it then use it.
  11. You achaly gonna come nek year m8, or will you buy new decks instead? I wanted to come this year but lack of funds (Income mostly). I'l deffs come to cairns even if it kills me, worst case scenario if I cant afford a pad spot I can just stay at my uncles Manor/Mansion thing in city view.
  12. Was about to suggest the next meet be in cairns. So many eateries and the stuff on the esplanade is fucking gr8
  13. Check your chrome addons too, Google has no problem with addons that inject addware for some reason.
  14. I read this as "Afrojack"
  15. My mobile setup these days. (Shot before cabling was done)
  16. Backup and mixtape recording decks.

  18. Mixing is a skill that especially on turntables doesn't go out of date. Also books aren't a great teaching method for Dj'ing when we have more suitable mediums available such as Videos.
  19. because they have to save something for the upgrade once everyone has bought these ones. Wurd Also from an aesthetic point of view this thing looks off to me. Something not quite right about how everything is layed out.
  20. Also what is better, a regular or folded horn sub?
  21. Will a 21" sub be laggy with 15" pa speakers. What wattage/size would you guys recommend.
  22. It's pretty much just midi, I got them confused.
  23. Denons are becoming my main players now for everything including mobile gigs. Going to try using them in HID next time as I forgot how janky timecode is.
