Im thinking of starting up a youtube series called "zero to hero" so basically I have no experience "accept for practising and sitting in on others gigs" and basicly just document all my gigs, things I did that worked and dident and il even see if I can set a video camera on a tripod and record my gigs. then basically it shows me going from no experience, to hopefully my goal, playing at a club in Adelaide, and hopefully helps any other dj's starting off. do you think people/you would want to watch something like this?

mmhm yes im 16, but I have $200 in the bank so Il buy the headphones with that money. I would like to generally save it. But like hobberz said, it would last me longer, and i could probably wouldn't ever have to upgrade.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us thats my kit not to bad for my first setup I dont think :3 I got that roadcase from jb the other day, $50 each! all padded with foam and already cut for a mixer and 2 cd dj's, felt kinda sad cutting it to make my all in one fit, but here is some pics of it http://img194.imageshack.us/g/img1531zm.jpg/ and when I had finished fitting it: Uploaded with ImageShack.us once I cut it, I put some black material down and tucked it into the sides to tidy it up

Thank you for your advice guys, and yes by the way I have decided on turntables, I will be going to my local audio/dj store "derringers" on the weekend and will look through everything. Thank you for taking the time to talk about this with me I will most likely get a decent mixer, tractor scratch pro, and 2 turntables, as I have previously liked the feel of vinyl with one of the dj's I tagged along with, but didn't like the fact that I had to buy all my music again. $300? most places ive seen it it is $600, or can you recommend a mixer with an inbuilt sound card, I didn't mind that berringer, but jdim says its bad. I like the idea that I can have a mixer with pretty much all the features of an x1

As you may already know, im Sol Dios, "Kris" is my real first name but yeh I decided I would take up dj'ing because in media last year, we had a student teacher in our media class who was a fairly big dj in the city (Adelaide is where I hail from) He taught us all about music and mixing, I really enjoyed it and decided I might give it a go. Since then ive been saving up and buying all the gear I need to start. Ive been playing Cheese for the moment (hits and party music) which isn't too bad, but its not what I want to do. But its a good way to get some extra cash flow and my foot in the door. My ultimate goal is to play in a club in Adelaide. hope you have enjoyed Kris

good point, but I can buy the software alone for alot cheaper $100 from a friend, so all I need is something to get my turntables to hook up too something. that berringer is looking ok atm :3

Hey, so Im wondering, what would I need for a timecode vinyl setup? I know 2 direct drive turntables are recommended. Buy my main question is if you really need the audio 8/4 thing that comes with traktor scratch pro, ive seen people on youtube doing it hooked up to a Hercules controler and even a Behringer BCD2000. So what would I need? Im not planing to upgrade any time soon, but I like to plan ahead and have a goal

my only worry with turntables is yes, I know your going to shoot me for this, no sync button. I dont think you can even with an x1 hooked into your control vinal setup. I know its kind of nooby, but sometimes you have gigs where your not on your game, and I just like the security of having it there just in case
