hey guys, I have a 7hr gig next month and so far onyl 5.5 hours of music in my playlist (not a static playlist) and was wondering any dance songs you would sugest? I have most of the mainstream ones
-
:/ wasnt able to film new epp tonight, had to work late, next episode will be on choosing whether to be a mobile or venue dj.
-
Annotation added thank you!
-
Yeh, club dj names would be different to mobile dj names, mainly because you have a partially bigger audience range, eg a 70 yo gentleman isn't going to want to hire dj "il do your mother" or something. also in under 18 birthday partys, Over protective parents often have a say on what happens, and they will probably spank there child for suggesting they hire a dj with an offensive name. However thank you for providing your opinion! I will bring it up in my next video
-
haha dont worry, I am, but my next/first gig is in about a month, so im doing these to keep me occupied. I will be doing a full video giglog with footage and everything though also like I said before, all I can really practice is transitions from song to song, my mixer is the most basic thing ever but good for a beginer
-
oh, yeh I guess that makes sense, but when it gets to about $2200 for one cd'dj its a bit over the top :/
-
I saw the pioneer cd dj 350's in jb hifi the other day. And honnestly I hated them, the jog wheels where really crappy! And spun really badly like they had sand under them (they dident as I tried it with other ones and it was the same). Not to mention they only scratch if you push down the top with a moderate amount of force. I would not pay $850 like they where charging for that. :S all the pioneer stuff seems to be a-bit overpriced in fact. Sure people say "your paying for quality" but your also paying to add another room to there golden mansion. Im probably going to get rocks thrown at me for this but yeh :S

Might film an episode on choosing to be a venue or a mobile dj today
-
Thank you lloydc again! I love them

haha awesome, just letting you know, our school has nothing to do with dj's or dj teaching of any kind, it was pure luck that we got a student teacher that was a dj.
-
I go to Willunga High School, he was a student teacher though, and was only there for a short period
-
sorry man! :/ the message has not come through but il answer it for you. Basically it wasn't a dj school, just my local high school. Mr taylor's dj name was dj swift, but I haven't been able to track him down since he left. In my opinion, dj'ing in aus is pretty much the same as it is where you are, just a different set of top 10 or so tracks. and il answer the rest of the questions in the next episode
-
Next one topic, choosing a dj name
-
I was going to make my own case for my mixer out of mdf, but it was going to be bloody heavy, luckily I found a big case in jb for $50 each, lined with foam and already had cut outs for 2 cd'djs and a mixer

Hey guys, so Im about to start recording my first episode of my youtube show. On Zero to hero, I will be starting as a dj with no experience, and working my way up, providing any tips, do's and don't's I find on the way I would like to get some questions to answer for my first introduction episode? so what would you ask a newbie dj? e.g. why do you want to be a dj?

you'd be better of with an S4 IMO, if that was your intended setup Im not a fan of the jog wheels, they look stupid on the top. I love the dennon but it seems abit cramped
