Ah really? The link that u posted, do they have the fix for the drivers problem in that forum? Ravni are u running ur monitors through 1/4" TRS jacks??

Is the price difference between these two monitors really worth it. I understand the yamahas are meant to be one of the flattest speakers in its price range...but I'm told the behringers translate quite well also. Opinions?

hey bonz il let wazza answer the rest when he gets around to it, but in regards to above, as per wazza's comment no actual sound is coming from your MPK. it is just sending command controls to whatever program you are using. so the quality of sound is not affected by plugging the MPK in by USB. Ok right on..thanks for the quick answer eggsell. Rang a few places and got steered towards the NI Kontrol and the M-AUDIO FAST TRACK, both around the 300 mark... You guys know much about these two??

If i just run the MPK through the laptop USB and not run it through the interface will that lower the quality of production? So when u say the edirol fa 66 has balanced jack in's, are u saying that it has 1/4" TRS jack in's? What gear are u running off the Edirol FA wazza? im on PC.... so im able to run the Montior speakers off the edirol through balanced jacks, the MPK off the laptop ....and traktor has a dedicated sound card.. this all correct? sorry dood, read it wrong.

-but im being told to steer away from unbalanced cable and stick to XLR or TRS all the way. -Im using a laptop, and using an external sound card at the moment which isnt involved in ASIO drivers at all....thats one of my reasons for lookin at an audio interface....does the akai mpk49 USB into the laptop and plug into the audio interface? ahh really? had no idea! do u possibly know if the mpk49 does?

Can any one shed light on the type of audio interface i need for.... -Monitors XLR (pair) -Midi keyboard (AKAI MPK49 for example) -Traktor S4 really strugglin on this one. any help would be great. Thanks Bonzee

right on, when u produce do u get any hums or anything? understandable...i see ur point. So if i dont go for the audio 8 am i screwed for traktor further down the track?

yeh the whole 120V power lead completely slipped my mind. unfortunately not in melbourne dood...ur right tho that would have been a good deal! KRK RP8's or Yamaha HS80M Talk is the KRK's are more boomy and the Yammys are more clear and translate better. I know it usually comes down to user preference... Anyone got words on this?

I actually do want to move onto traktor further down the track. But all in all, i cant beleive it doesnt have any XLR/TRS outputs. What audio interface are u guys running and/or reccomend.

yes ill be hittin traktor soon enuf... Its probably not worth me running the audio 8 with RCA's instead of XLR's. Just found out it doesnt have any XLR outputs for monitors... Can anyone lead me in the right direction??? got reccommended the Motu UltraLite MK3 Hybrid....quite pricey tho.

hah! now i feel truly stupid. Since these are my first monitors, how are they wired? are they powered through the sound card interface with XLR cables? heard much about the KRK RP8's? ebay for $250 US.

Also how is the Audio 8 in relation to XLR input/output? all im getting on it is a XLR headphone output... is that the same as an XLR speaker output???

ahh right on, alot of happy customers own those behringers. how u finding the highs with the 8"s?

yeh ive heard also. was thinkin of runnin the 6's with that 10" KRK sub. or are the 6's to middy and maybe im better off runnin the 5's?

im workin around the $600 mark. One of the reasons why i chose the KRK RP6G2's... whats ur opinion... am i paying for a name with the KRK's?
