Ahh I see. my hs80 m's are on the flat setting at the moment and they run a nice clean bass through them but I always wondered if I was missing out on any necessary low end. But what you've done makes good sense how much did u find the sub for if u dont mind me asking.. cheapest I can see is around $650

rokits are the entry level....VXT's are the next step up if u got the $$$ the behringers arent that bad dood! but like the boys said...they are entry level. in any case you will train your ear to them after using them for awhile. ^^^have to agree here...i own the same speakers and they just cant be beat! if u wanna save a bit more for a pair of monitors that u will pretty much never have to second guess and swap out later down the track. the yammy hs80m's are the best for there price range.
