ahh i get you. yeah im using an external interface. but i also use an external 5.1 sound card and laptop speakers. but my lappy always reverts back to the right soundcard depending on what speakers are plugged in. did u fix it yet though?

Sorry its taken so long to reply dood. On holidays. im using an mpk25 and from my experience with it, it only shows the notes your playing (as coloured bars) once i have stopped recording. so yeh mine does the same as urs...i think thats just how it works??? Sorry i couldnt be of much help.
