Mizhap Presents CHASNING SHADOWS AND DZ!!! 4th March @ Shape
JohnnyQuest replied to JohnnyQuest's topic in DJ Headquarters
Gunna be big man! -
Mizhap Productions is back again with a huge international double header. Chasing Shadows and DZ are coming our way to tear shit up. Prepare yourselves for some heavy hitting basslines. Chasing Shadows are a UK based dubstep duo who are often noted for their menacing signature sound, they have released on Jakes’ HENCH label among others and have received underground success for their "Damien Marley - It Was Written" remix. They have recently been nominated for best remix (Laid Blak – Red (Chasing Shadows Remix) at the Dubstep Forum Awards. Along with a heavy touring schedule, this duo are set to blow up in 2011. Watch out for big things to come! The North American bass dub slinger DZ is no stranger to dance floors worldwide with his tunes being played by the likes of Rusko, Diplo, Herve, the Crookers, MRK1, Hank Shocklee and Starkey, and with all the blog releases and freebies as of late probably hundreds of up and coming dj’s around the globe. Definitely among the most influential and widely recognized dubstep artists in North America, DZ has made his name with an almost robot-like consistency of quality productions and releases on a variety of labels internationally, as well as higher profile remixes for the likes of Jokers of the Scene, The Crookers , Wu-tang Clan, Major Lazer and Gucci Mane. With the release of his first full length LP “The Proliferation Sequence”, a massive 26 tune offering split into two parts (Jan 5/19, 2010 on Badman Digital), DZ is about to strengthen the claim that he just may be the most prolific dubstep artist in North America yet. Tickets on sale Monday 31st January for $25+bf from Planet Video, Mills Records and www.moshtix.com.au. You know the deal. Don't forget to sign up at www.mizhapproductions.com.au to be in the know! Or holla at me for industrys! this ones gunna be lllaaaaaaaarrrrrggge!!

Inhibit presents... Wednesday March 2nd @ Bar Open (upstairs) $15 entry DUBSTEP SUPPORT Killafoe & J.Nitrous Vishnu b2b Johnny Quest Rekab Raised on a diet of pure filth, the Broken Note duo are bringing their own unique sound to the electronic music scene. Combining lean, considered production skills with an appreciation of diverse rough beats; they have quickly established themselves as a sonic force to be reckoned with. Some of their recent and forthcoming releases can only very loosely be described as Dubstep, with little in common with much of the scene's output. Instead they draw from the Sino-Rastafarian sound and heavy bass; but also combine this with more of the kind of dark and aggressive beats that can be found in Breakcore and Jungle. Their Drum and Bass is similarly disturbingly brutal, with undulating beats and bass that are unushamed to draw from the darkly edgey sounds of Gabba and Techno. It delivers a rhythmic pounding that has set dancefloors around the world on fire with its astonishing heaviness. The result is both at home in clubs and the vast expanse of a decaying urban warehouse, inspiring visions of a dark and techy future for their music. A description of their most recent release was pegged as "The darkest, most frightening tunes that've ever found their way onto vinyl". Their live sets are currently based around Ableton Live, utilizing various midi controllers and FX running with on the spot warping, cueing and live key work. The content tends to be a mash up of everything from dark dubstep to hardtekno, the most evil dnb to hardcore; playing many of their own tunes but mixing these with music by those who they draw inspiration from. They are both diverse and interesting, as well as being guaranteed to be one of the highlights of any night at which they are playing. Broken Note is appreciated, played out and given radio airtime by the likes of Mary-Anne Hobbes, Amon Tobin, Boxcutter, Aaron Spectre, SPL, Babylon System, Cooh and Juno Reactor; their sound is being widely received around the globe. This spreading tide is only set to continue...

righto, fuck that got confusing ha ha. Pretty much all the drop points are in red unless otherwise stated. there's alot of throwing back and forth to songs so it was going to take forever and just get too confusing if i started putting down all the switches and so on. you get the point

Aight wicked, likin the dark feel of this track man. Good use of the hoover bass (not abusing it) change up's are good (bringin that wobble in) Love the piano work in it. things i didnt like: The snare: too much reverb for my liking (personal opinion) Try layer it with a punchy snare and tone down that reverb The bass: Need to add some bass changes in there. maybe some sweep ups or downs when the hoover comes into it. every now n then cut the bass about just before it re-drops. this has the effect of refreshing listeners ears so they done get bored of hearing the same drone over n over Very well eq'd. Props to you sir!

Didnt chase n status do the production for this? heard the were in the US doing production for Snoop, Britney n Katy perry if i'm not mistaken. Anyone clear this up?

My DAW is FL studio 9. using plugins such as Massive (isnt everyone ha ha) Kontakt (still exploring this beast of a sampler), and i've got albino and z3ta but rarely use them. Plan on getting Rob Palpens Predator just havent gotten around to it. Been producing dub for a little over a yr now. Before that i didnt really know what i was doing as i have no musical backround. Tried my hand at dnb first, but, you really have to make the music that YOU feel the most imo. No point forcing something thats not there :-D
