Alright guys so at the moment i have 2 technic 1200s, numark dxm01, a behringer ddm4000 and a traktor s4 with my trusty macbook. What i want to know is what software should i be looking at getting? I understand that i can use the s4 as a soundcard but would i be better off getting my own for when i play out in the clubs? Why Traktor over Serato? Which setup should i be using out of these listed items?

aren't they in shops already?? i don't like the look of the units, if i want a cdj/mixer setup thats exactly what ill get, not a controller.

although the sentiment here is basically spot on it's worth noting that money doesnt always reflect on quality, gold plated technics are no better than standard dex, and the newest range of numark controllers are very high build quality but priced reasonably, unlike pioneers attempt at the controller market. I remember the battle lines drawn up when pioneer released the cdj 1000 back when technics 1210 were industry standard. there was a lot of teething for many djs to make the switch, it could all happen again now controllers are upping their game. Armed is right: pioneer are industry standard becasue they are the best... but the only thing certain in life is change so dont take it for granted that they'll always be at the top of their game. o on the topic of gold plated technics i dont think that applies to what were currently discussing lol, but i see your point
