I was asked to play a friend of a friends b'day. I said no worries, was advised they had decks (CDJ's) and drinks would be on the house. Sweet as. I rock up early to find no farking decks, just an amplifier and shitty old speakers in a run down pub. Fortunately I had a backup plan, I brought my laptop so I connected the laptop into their system and mixed off Traktor. That Sync button is farkin handy when your shitfaced.

I've only seen controllers used at b'day functions and weddings. Most clubs have industry standard pioneers and you wouldn't want to pass up an opportunity to use those babies over your controller.

Nice remix mate. The darker section at 2:30 took me by surprise but it breaks up the track nicely before building up into that bass beat at 4:30. Wicked.

Ha ha. Pissa. My mates have giving me the name DJ Huzz based on my surname and nickname. It sounds pretty lame. So weighing up my options.

Firstly I don't have one, however I can't decide whether to use one or not? So I'm keen to find out how everyone come up with one? What was the inspiration? Did you use a nickname? Has anyone changed their DJ Name over the course of their career?

Some nice beats there mate. I'm no expert to give advice on the transitions though. Love that last track. Its a bomb. Whose it by?

LOL at RichoKidd's comment! Its a massive rush mixing live and dropping a mix that sounds awesome. So I wouldn't pre-mix. Defeats the purchase of DJ'ing.

Definitely introduce yourself to the DJ. I'm a rookie DJ as well and I'm always saying g'day. Especially if they're playing a wicked tune I haven't heard. Having said that, some DJ's are not interested while others are really keen for a chat especially if its quiet.

I remember Roos - Instant Moments. Think it was the same era Jordz track Amok...
