the pitch in technics is accurate and precise, but they lack torque; every time i've used a technics i've stopped it i know i'm heavy handed but i still can't compensate. also technics have this we charge the most cos we are the best attitude kinda like pioneer, but at least pioneer do have some low end equipment
-
or the i've bought decks you're really good at this can you play this track (hands you a cd) or we have to catch up and have a mix so you can teach me a few things (these people are ok, you can say to them to talk to you after a set)
-
yeah i think i'm going to have to, when i did an outdoor party for newyears there was about 50 people there, it was on uneven ground, the table was levelled using crushed cans(emergency measure at 2-3am to stop the vinyl skating), and there werent any problems, we had heaps of people coming up and storing things behind the decks and there werent any problems. i think i'll invest in some form of bunting to try and get the message across
-
yeah i guess i'm gonna have to bite the bullet and be direct and blunt. the main thing that pisses me off is that i only brought down my vinyl turntables for 1 specifically cos all he really has is vinyl i would've been happy to leave 2 turnbables and 2 bags of vinyl at home and just used cd's( although 4 ended up using vinyl)
-
yeah it's getting to the point now where i'm getting a sign made up saying, dj rules -no requests -don't touch what you aren't going to replace -no drinks -and finally FUCK OFF I'M MIXING it's normally setup a little better but because it was at a hired venue we didn't have much to work with. almost thinking about investing in a portable stage

any ideas on how to tell people that if they want your decks at a party they are going to have to pay for your services? Because i've had enough of people not being respectful towards my equipment, a party that i did on the weekend for a friend cost me 50 for a coax cable that i didn't even need and can't return, plus my needles got broken so that's another 160 to replace them. plus the whole night i had to keep telling people to stop putting their drinks on the table. i'm just sick of the disrespect for my hard earned equipment and my pride and joy. and i don't know how to tell them without being a WHALE that someoneelse has to pay for the damages or i'm not bringing them out ever again.

i haven't had a stereo in my car for so long i'd almost forgotten they existed fucking thieves... but the usb sticks are going to make a decent entry into the consumer market, and although we are consumers; alot of the time it is easier for us to download music rather than buy an album. But i'm sure you'd rather pay 30-50 for all songs made by an artist
-
well let's look at the pros and cons for the general consumer not commercial. pro -flash stick are easy and cheap to make -you can't scratch them -they're smaller than a cd -you could store a whole discography on 1 -i can't think of anymore cons -they're smaller than a cd:easier to lose -flash technology is limited:if you were putting more information on them again and again from updates eventually you would need to format and start again ~1000 times and after ~1000 formats they're useless -downloading individual tracks may be cheaper i think this is a great idea and it is trying to encourage people to stop pirating music, if they take this in the direction that it needs to go in, you pay the price of a cd/dvd and get all the artist content of this on a usb stick, more and more dvd players are coming out with usb slots and even stereo's and home theatre systems
-
hahahaha tipping a rapist, fuck me that's gold
-
seen these before, it's things like these that actually make me enjoy turntablism because i find scratching is over done
-
that's fucked up when they say you owe them money... the whole purpose of payg withholding is to eliminate tax debts
-
with mp3 players becoming the main stream i believe it will
-
thanks caleque that's the thing i was talking about, saw it just before i started work and couldn't find it last night
-
i forgot to save the article from fridays advertiser but it's about music and such being sold on usb sticks with artist bio's albulm art and such, and there was also going to be no restrictions on transferring albums across to media players, and you could also get automatic song updates. it said record companies would set the price of these sticks but they shouldn't be more than the price of cd's
-
yeah i like ortofons, i don't scratch so i don't see the point in getting a hard core needle just want something with a nice clean, crisp sound.
-
yeah that's the best way to go i was going to do that but i got impatient
-
you're lucky if you get that much i sold 220 records plus 2 crates for 150 really feel like i got ripped off but there's not much you can do when you get tired of sitting on them for so long
-
dvs has opened a totally legit doorway, when it comes to aria licensing, download the track onto hard drive play from hard drive no need to pay for format shifting licence
-
i've got cdj800's i just have vinyl for some of my harder stuff, old tech, and dubstep oh and ofcoarse rare vinyl's
-
so i finally set up my decks after a gig on sat and what do i find but one of my styli is bent- pissed off after i made sure that the arms were locked down each time they weren't in use. thinking of upgrading what do you recommend been using qbert's cos they came with the decks, i'm thinking of getting some nightclubs but unsure. any advice would be great
-
just a quick note that seems like a stereotypical view or comment but it is only done in the pure comedic fashion, i like mexicans even if it is only for tequila and cactus
-
hosted by mr criminal or just a plain old criminal... give me your recording studio essey or i'll bust a cap in your donkey
-
well yeah it's essentially the same thing but when i was working on it there weren't ipods, closest thing was a minidisc.... ah mini disc-these are really good for recording sets too
-
if you interfere with other stations a complaint will be made and from there they locate where the signal is coming from, i suppose you could sort of do a broadcast to an array of relay stations only problem would be staying within broadcasting range with limited signal power, i was intending to make a broadcasting antenna for outdoor parties so that you could still listen to the event from your car for those moments where you want to relax but still want to enjoy it
-
i've looked into installing a radion antenna it's not that hard but therre are so many guidelines you have to abide by, like frequency restrictions, broadcast range, then there is fcc bullshit
