  1. wah.... i want my tax return now so i can go get ableton!
  2. it's easy to get used to and coming from vinyl you should have it in next to no time:D
  3. damn you all and your having of good retailers
  4. yeah it's the "like this is the only time we'll ever be able to fuck the record company" but in doing so the artist does cop a little bit
  5. you won't be dissapointed man, sometimes i wish i had the 3 hot cue/loop buttons of the 1000's but once you get the hang of the cue memory funtion it is really easy to do the same thing minus the loop
  6. welcome
  7. but there is so much more money in vinyl and cd when it is mass produced
  8. i think they did that because it was the second time she was in court over this, but it doesn't say she was using the music for any financial gain so as a personal user it's bullshit, even the settlements of between 3-5000 are bullshit 24 songs does not equate to that amount fucking rip off
  9. insert dennis quote "i told you all that this would happen"
  10. so it's taken the step to the next level then
  11. sounds interesting
  12. it's bad enough that you get emails from people like this at some point but a forum means they put effort into it
  13. if you want some good idea's check out any european festival acts, some are seriously insane and they only use cdj's 2 or 4, it's really good when you watch someone that really knows the equipment and uses the full potential of it
  14. i'm shocked you forgot http://dancemusichub.com/
  15. yes i do think that you always need to be evolving and changing with the times, live sets are a good way of doing this- though it can be harder to do it for a cd, cos you can pick a vibe from the crowd and go with that
  16. the biggest problem i forsee is all the new touch screen pads to control software are going to take even more skill away from mixing, beatmatching gets taken away with the sync on software, and you no longer see anything being done with the turnpad(touch platter)
  17. yeah but you can dvs with cdj's too, alot of turntableness as far as the crowd is concerned is that it makes it look like a dj is doing more work because things are moving and changing with a cdj most people think that anyone can dj with cd's and that there is no skill
  18. yes it seems the standard that anyone who has technics loves them, numark top end range loves them, and stanton loves them, i don't know of anyone that has any vestax tables
  19. even cdex might do the trick
  20. denon make some good cdj's and the technics one is good too but they have so many other on board features that i wouldn't really use. the one thing i like about denon is the bpm counter has a decimal for a little bit more accuracy (even though it's really just a useful shortcut)
  21. i can't remember what the licensing is called but it really restricts what you are allowed to do with the music
  22. Genetic

    Synths?

you can download heaps off the net for free and put them through their paces
  23. guess they have they're advantages of getting different sounds if it takes less time to spin up (torque wise) you have a bit more lee-way to do scratch things with. i've always looked at it like this if i stop something that is meant to be moving even if it has no direct contact movable parts i'm still doing damage
  24. i'll be buying up once i get my cc sorted
  25. panasonic make them, and yeah they don't but it just lacks the reponse time and i believe that it can damage the magnet or coil can't remember which one
