  5. ok when a dj plays a song they have to have permission. does a band need permission?
  6. ok just so this doesn't turn into a huge thing on copyright laws and shit like that, play in club safe, play mobile dj get licences. i'm curious i was milling this over at work today does a band that plays a cover of a song have to get the artists permission to do so? or is it ok because they are actually playing the music on seperate instruments whereas we play it as a whole unit

  10. hi and welcome to adjf, to answer your question i've spent some time talking with the emp teacher at sae adelaide and he's told me the total outline of the course is to teach you ableton and reason to the degree he thinks that most people will need to start producing. whilst having a certificate 3 in emp is a qualification it isn't one that will land you jobs or money, the diploma on the other hand is enough to at the very least get you hired as a sound tech for a music event or a venue. or possibly be a sound engineer for a record label or studio. hope this has helped you out, be aware that sae do courses in just the individual programs themselves so you may not need to pay 4000 but i think this doesn't start till next year
  11. oh yeah back in the old days... come to daddy,...shit thats the only one i can remember fucking messed up video clip
  12. it's not bad got bored to quick

  14. you tube it man
  15. that's why i said about ventilation, today's split system aircons are great solution to this
  16. yeah when i bought my 800's was before the price drop i paid 2000 for the pair... i was spewin when the price dropped 10 weeks later, and i could've got 2 1000's for that but now with the price hike i feel happy in knowing i paid that much for them
  17. i'd settle for 800's if i couldn't get 1000's... wait i already did that
  18. a friend of mine is building a booth in his bedroom, it's fairly small one side is all computer and rack gear, the other is enough to play an instrument-not drums though. i'll dig some more info up after work tonight
  19. yeah send me some it'll be good to spread the word and get some people both in the know and venue holders that might be looking to get some fresh faces
  20. send cards to members and get them to hand out to dj's or starting dj's
  21. this way is more streamlined and makes more sense as we are a forum site and not the other way around
  22. geez that's tiny you must have a very compact setup, i guess i like a bit more room to move though i'd probably go with 3m x 3m square floorplan, you'll need an entry door nice and thick and a shit load of sound proofing for walls, floor and ceiling espesially around entry points and ventilation-you will need this don't want to die in your sound proof box. for really good tech stuff check this site http://www.soundproofing.com/soundproof ... icles.html it is trying to sell their product but it does have the right info
  23. ok so you want a sound resistant box with recording stuff on the otherside of some form of glass(lexan type)? how much space do you have to work with? rough dimensions- total space and how big you want/need the 2 rooms to be? you can get away with having a minimal space on the recording side and a reasonable size on the live side. budget? if it's a this is how much i've got to work with or an ongoing project? i know it's a bit of a ball breaker of questions but all this information can mean the difference between building too big or small and killing the wallet. i've been to sae in adelaide and sussed out their rooms, and i can talk to 48 records now they're in adelaide-they've built a couple, and i've been to a few garage built ones and picked the builders brain
  24. lol, i know my equipment well and i put it through its paces, i'm going to be getting 2000's when i've got a spare $600 but that's the technology whore in me
