yeah scanning through the track before you bring it in is a good idea so you can get an idea of how busy the outro section is so when you bring in the track after that you can have a good idea of how to make your transistion. if I dont already know how the song is structured, ill scan through it before I bring it in just with the fast foward button to see where the drop is, how many bars the drop is, and when the release is etc.

I dont wanna hijack the thread but most go offtopic as fuck so ill just post it anyway. sooo, when I joined I just randomly chose streetcleaner coz its a sick Godflesh album which is a band I really like but I didnt intend it on being my producer name or anything but im starting to like it more and more and am considering rolling with it. had a few others in my mind like Break & Enter (djim didnt like this one hahaha), or something with the word 'accuse' or 'accused' in it coz its a badass word, hahaha. or after watching Shutter Island I was thinking shutter is a pretty cool word,so maybe something with that in it, or maybe Ward something, haha. i have no idea.

yeah, phrasing is important. most of the time its dropping a 32bar intro with a release/build section at the end of it on a 32 bar drop.

heres my most used one. takes place most of the time over 32 bars for like electro house, electro trash, fidget. etc. 1.) cue up the track, get it all beatmatched, get the volume levels right blah blah blah. 2.) Start playing your incoming track with the bass and volume all the way down. 3.) After 8 bars, smash up the channel fader of the incoming track to about 2/3 volume. 4.) After 16 bars crank the volume to full on the incoming track and turn the bass up like 1/3 5.) After 24 bars bring the bass up of the incoming track to about 2/3 6.) During the last beat or 2 of the 32 bars simultaneously bring the bass of the incoming track all the way up and the outgoing track all the way down in a slow gradual motion then kill the outgoing track all together. 7.) ???? 8.) Profit

ive got XDs but have used the hd-25s as well and I definitely prefer the XDs. better sound and more comfy imo.

my cd wallet is just electro, electro trash, dubstep and drum and bass, so yeah those genres. havent put much trance on cds yet but theres 1 or 2 lyring around I somtimes use.
