  1. lol I swear any search with common words like that will get millions of results. There is nothing really specifically with the name Night Empire though. I dont really get how google determines it. When I google it using the google key words search Night Empire doesnt come up.
  2. Im still on the hunt for a new name so safe to say its driving me crazy, haha. I have taken a different direction so to speak in terms of name selection, I want it to have a positive vibe to it unlike my old suggestions. Dada Life is a name which has that positive vibe I'm talking about. It also has to be kinda unique, easy to spell and pronounce, and pretty much just to the point i.e. Knife Party, Slop Rock, Major Lazer etc. So a combination of 2 words is what Im after I guess lol. These are some words I like: Titan Culture Cult Vibe Lunar Mode Future Code Sense Sonic Nerve Night Empire Circuit scape Signal Echo Terminal So far I like the ring Night Empire has to it, but am still deciding.
  3. hahahhahahahahaha
  4. nah gonna stick with Logic for production but am interested in using ableton for some live performances.
  5. street

    TOTD?

  6. Definitely worth the 10 minutes. Technology is amazing!
  7. nice, I got a novaforge desk as well, but didn't paint it, just a few coats of lacquer. Looks nice in black though. I remember postage was a bitch haha, still worth it though
  8. If you were a producer with time on your hands and any self respect you'd be working on your own material. Agreed. How bout people focus on building their own career instead of someone elses. Hiding behind a ghost producer can only last so long anyway.
  9. yea I saw Lazy Rich post that this morning, so fucked up.
  10. yea, so much of it is just trial and error, but down the line there will be less error as you improve.
  11. Yeah, if your mix is good enough, all that needs to be done at the mastering stage is get it to commercial volume.
  12. Ryan was pretty vague with that post, but pretty sure he is talking more about synth selection. When you're doing a mixdown, you are trying to give the individual elements their own space in the mix, which can be achieved through EQ, stereo imaging, panning, compression etc. and what he is saying that sometimes all the EQ, compression and processing in the world still won't work if the synth patch itself doesn't suit the track. When he says he "ignored it for far too long" he probably had a synth patch he liked and was processing the shit out of it to try and make it fit in the mix, but all he need to do was chose a different synth sound. The same can be said for drums. You want a snare/clap that works with your kick. Individually, they might sound great, but if they don't sound good together, you're going to want to look for a different sample, rather than processing the shit out of it.
  13. They didn't mention a song in my case, just said it contained copyright content.
  14. If you do find a good kick there is no reason you can't use it. I'm sure Hardwell has just used a Vengeance sample anyway. Just don't try and over complicate it. I used to layer and process like 3-4 kick drums thinking that was the way to get the biggest kick drum possible, but now I just try and find 1 kick which is good enough that it doesn't need any processing or layering.
  15. that just happened to me too with an original
  16. Try and find isolated kicks from Hardwell/Hard Rock Sofa type tracks and use them as a reference.
  17. LOL! I haven't been to Candy's in ages but just know that the earlier sets always seem to be filled with funky bobby stuff. Maybe this kinda stuff:
  18. I think people 'talking about a page' is a combination of the number of unique people who have liked the page + number who have liked the status of the artist + number of people who have tagged the artist in a post or something like that. So retarded when there is an artist with a 5 figure likes number, and about 5 people talking about them lol.
  19. I love that song andyman
  20. Yea I found it hard to find names with just 2 syllables so I tried thinking of ones with 3 too. I just don't want too many letters, probably 7-8 maximum.
  21. what did you come up with?
  22. Every name I think of has axis in it now lol. New ones: Paraxis, Anaxis, Miraxis, Senaxis
