    TOTD?

  6. Drum and bass has the snare on beats 2 and 4, whereas drumstep has the snare only on beat 3.
  7. the frequency spectrum only goes from 20-20000Hz, so you can't really cut anything below 20Hz. I also remember Dada Life saying how you should cut the bass at 30Hz.
  8. I don't have to master my tracks anymore, but when I did, I firstly had it peaking between -4 and -6, then did a low cut at 28Hz, put on a compressor, did some boosting with Logic's Linear Phase EQ, and then put a limiter. Does anyone put sausage fattener on the master channel?
  9. My main computer has the majority of my music, with about 15000 tracks total, with 10000 of them being metal, 3000 being edm, and the rest other stuff (prog rock, space rock, ambient) Laptop consits of 9222 songs, however about 80% of them are samples, so my library is really messy and unorganised.
  10. lolololol, just realised that.
  11. i know hobberz got it. who else?

  13. First up, this was not written by me, and is taken from another forum but there is some amazing advice in here and it is definitely worth reading. Taken from: http://www.ryanenzed.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1628
  14. I think that's actually what my tracks get mastered with when i send them off.
  15. how does it work?
  16. Part 5! Blending & Automation
  17. Laidback Luke posted this info on a soundcloud comment once. I mainly just use a sample delay to push my synths wide on the speakers, but not sure if im pushing them mid stereo or wide stereo.
  18. anyone got any advice on stereo imaging of synths. this seems to give me the most trouble. obviously my bass and sub bass sits in the center/mono, then I have the mid-range stuff pushed wide, as well as the higher pitched stuff as well, like HP type stuff.
  19. I always try get a heaps full sound for the main foundation bass/synth in the drop. In my most recent track I did this by layering a deep distorted bass with everything above 200Hz rolled off, combined with a chordy type sound, though I had two of them, with one panned far left, and the other panned far right, and did this process with another supersaw type sound.
  20. bought djm350/cdj350s about a year and a bit ago and don't plan on upgrading ever. they do the job well enough. plus, I only really produce now, not much mixing going on anymore.
  21. I gotta write a 3rd person bio and am stuck, lol. helpppppppppp
  22. hi
