Holy shit!! this is next level dope!
-
yeah taking a track and running it thru a whole bunch of stuff and then recording the output has definately lost some quality along the way, as for the intro, i actually really dislike the intro to game over, which is why i thought of mixing the two tracks in the first place, and yeah your right about the levels, the output on both is the same, but i think its that tetris has alot of high end, and game over has heavier mids, so its pretty noticable to the ear when it switches. cheers man

never really had the motivation to do a mash up before, but i was testing out my new live set up which is running some neat glitchy plugins and i found these two songs just worked together well, so i recorded it, its not perfect, but ahh well, let us know what u think.. http://soundcloud.com/haydo12/tetris-game-over-edit-doctor-p

LMFAO feat. Lil Jon - Shots (Spitfire Remix)
haydos replied to LabRat's topic in Drum'n'Bass & Jungle
production sounds mint, bass is incredibly mean and clean, but that acapella ruins it for me. you should bounce a version without the lyrics -
My first foray into the world of funky breaks, thoroughly enjoying the genre. Let us know what you think. http://soundcloud.com/haydo12/booty-fruit P.s u can grab a copy of this track, and a funky dubstep track Dr Wonkenstein if you so desire, the link is in the description.

really love that sound in the intro! Did u sample it or make it urself? If so how haha?
-
this is fuckin tight! lovin the minimal style. Only thing i'd say is the sub feels a bit high in some places, and u could maybe add a bit of modulation to it to make it really throb with the mids. But yeah sounding sweet!

this is sick bro, top notch production as always, especially since this isnt finished yet, let alone mastered. I'm diggin the 2nd and 3rd tracks

yeah i do get that alot, u can hear it a bit in my track above, mainly due to having the strings under the piano as well i think. But it seems to be more prominent in piano synths than samplers. The best way i've found to get around it is to just hav a pre and post reverb EQ for each piano track. So use the first one to shape ur piano sound how u want, dull the low/high end watever, make sure u turn off any built in reverb in the synth/sampler, and use ur preferred VST to apply effect, then hav a squiz at ur post-reverb EQ and i often see a few really prominent resonance bands, use a few tight EQ notches to dull these bands and u should get a better overall sound

Figure - Must Destroy (swissdub moombah 2 drumstep remix)
haydos replied to JonnyB's topic in Dubstep & Trap
to be honest, im not at all taken by this moombah fad, but this has got some undeniable funk, nice work -
thanks man, yeah i use a really old Yamaha CTK 601, i find playing the notes in real time gives a much more authentic feel, the slightly unquantized chords and the subtle velocity variations, really helps put the feeling into a track

http://soundcloud.com/haydo12/fumes there it is, duno quite what i think of it yet. may come back to it and use it in a dub track, cause its at 70bpm which is handy
-
yeah forgot to mention direct wave, its rather good also but i havent really got the hang of the interface yet, all seems a bit cluttered. I'll have to check out Alicia's Keys, cause yeah, as with everything from NI the price tag is a bit of a slap to the face. Anyways, all this piano talk got me in the mood to write another piece, mite post it up here when its done
-
as eggsell said, great work on the keys, dont know how i missed this one wen u posted it. i also played the piano since i was about 7 or so, and often find myself pumping out straight piano tunes when dub just feels like too much effort. Wat piano synths/samplers do you use? My personal fav's would have to be Syrtus's Grand Piano - it gives the richest, fullest low end you've ever heard, but can sound very "synthesized" if u venture too low or high. MDA Piano - A super simple synth, pretty realistic, an alright range of options in terms of timbre. Been eyeing off NI's Akoustik pack for a while tho, you really cant go past samplers for the top notch sound, i had a mess with it on my mates computer, and you'd swear there'd a dam concert pianist in the room, it sounds that good. http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... tik-piano/ Anyways, just my thoughts

fat sub, nice work
-
yeah likewise, ever since i bought my field recorder i've just been recording everything, all the little backround perc and ambience are samples run through granulators and other FX. Its crazy how naturally musical the world is, so many random sounds ive recorded and they just naturally have their own rhythm and patterns.

cheers guys, glad ur diggin it
-
new track i finished up today, let us know what u think http://soundcloud.com/haydo12/quarks

love the intro man, some really original stuff
-
sounds pretty good, but yeah as said above, levels need a bit of work, feels like every instrument is cranked to the max to fight for a position in the mix. A bit of limiting and EQ could do great things for it. Anyways, solid work

amazing stuff, havent heard anything from Numbernin6 in ages
