Hey ADJF, posting these on behalf of a mate who's selling some 350's on Gumtree. He goes to college and has them stored at home so they really havent seen much use these decks. They are located in Coffs Harbour, but if you're in Newcastle or Sydney we can probably sort out some pick up options etc. It includes the 2 x CDJ350's, DJM400 Mixer and case. Just check the listing. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/coffs-ha ... 1005515776

Hey mate, I was in a similar position, but the main consideration (as already stated) is where you want to go, and how committed you are. I bought the S4 second hand at a reasonable price and for the use it's had (Bedroom and general mucking around, a few low key house parties) it's been great. Good fun and you can have your mates and the ladies come have a try too which people love. For mobile djing they can be great too! I've seen a few guys around doing events/parties with just the S4 and a computer...so its a sweet little set upand can bag you some cash with little outlay if you're decent. They have the ability lots of musical expression, Ean Golden style... But! I think its a lot harder to become good at beat matching as you can find yourself falling into the sync button trap, as well as being lazy with your timing by using the quantize/snap buttons. So for developing you skills you can shoot yourself in the foot in the long run by choosing the short run easy option. A bit more negative stuff I perceive that controllers just aren't taken as serious by CDJ users and turntablists, so breaking into certain scenes can be hard... But hey, if you're rocking your it and people dig im sure they wont care, so you just need to back yourself in your music selection and how you use the controller and software. The benefit of spending more on some CDJ's, in particular Pioneer gear may be worthwhile if you're committed to getting in the club scene... This is probably my only real regret with the S4. But on the other hand i already had a decent computer and only spent <1k on a sweet bit of kit that left my options open for additional equipment, like DVS or midifighters etc. Just make sure if you go the s4 route its worthwhile having a decent computer to run the software. Try and get a case if you're going to be lugging it around too plus that makes you look legit. Some people will swear by their CDJ's, others by their controllers... CDJ 850's are pretty good option IMO because of their similarity to club equipment, especially with a good mixer. The 900's have a few good features that really make them more like club equipment, and set them above the 850's for a little more money im fairly sure but im no expert. For me, it comes down to: How committed you are How much you want to spend What you want to do with your DJ career Good luck!

Cheers mate, appreciate it.

But otherwise if everything is working on them i'm pretty keen to grab them off you asap, sure i can sort out the power adapter problem easy enough.
-
Haha cheers! I'm still interested, understand the bit about the transformer...trying to work out whether or not theres a way i could get someone to change it to an Australian power supply as a more permanent solution. Do you have any idea about how old they are/how much abuse they've had? Are they in desperate need of a service or in reasonable condition?

Hey mate, are they mk2's? I think i saw your ad somewhere else and sent you an email :-P Cheers, Jack

Hi everyone, though I'd reintroduce myself now that i'm a genuine fledgling DeeJay. I live in Newcastle during the semester whilst doing University, I study B Business/B Law. Rest of the time live outside Coffs Harbour. Recently bought a Traktor Kontrol S4 to start me off. Just doing some bedroom djing for now. Looking to nail the basics and just have some fun then see where it takes me. What i'm 'spinning': Genres would probably cover house, electro/house, pop & rock as well as a bit of dubstep, nu disco and some chillout tunes. Looking at building up a decent music library in the future so i'm trying to gradually buy a few classic tunes each week. Future equipment i'm looking to acquire: Macbook pro Possibly a good CDJ or Turntable to run with timecode. Decent sound system/p.a Also going to DIY a case for my S4 soon. Maybe a midifighter. I think that covers about everything. Looking forward to participating in these forums more proactively Cheers

Hey mate, I might be interested, just don't have the cash for a few weeks.
-
Well played. Why do they even bother.
-
Hey everyone, I have no money, but some of you might. Saw this whilst searching the intertubes. Seems pretty cheap?I suppose 1000's are dropping in price now they are superseded. FAKE, my bad.
-
No worries... Would break the bank at the moment anyway!

How much are you asking for the 850?

Why did no-one tell me yesterday!!!???
