Reguests? UGH I've got every Top 100 from the 60's onwards Should have that covered. I'm assuming its less mixing more, "fade-into-generic-top-40-sing-along song", style DJing?

I rap and DJ at the same time. Sit their and scratch while spitting some fire! (dissapointed there is no fire smilie. Plox fix) As for DJing and MCing, I did it at a 40th and the crowd loved me! lololololol

So. I after DJing for like 4 years as a Mobile DJ, I have finally been booked for a wedding. As this is my first, I have a few questions/am seeking advice. Basic stuff like, etiquette of the DJ, what I should and SHOULD NOT play, do I eat if invited to do so? This isn't a huge wedding, in fact its being held in a backyard (possible shotgun wedding?), but I am hoping this leads to more business in the Wedding market as, thats where the $$$ is Any advice would be greatly appreciated

What is a good microphone/mic setup for recording vocals?
RichoKidd replied to Cupe's topic in Accessories etc.
I'm rocking with an AKG P220. Quality is good. Price isn't too bad -
So, My OG Needles have pretty much had it, and I'm in the market for some new ones. Do you guys have any AFFORDABLE recommendations? I am rolling with two different needles at the moment and feel like a foool. I have 1x OG Stanton POS & 1x Numark needle/cartridge. Looking at something that will hold up for scratching AND mixing.

I'm usually chatting to the DJ next to me, cuing up the next track. Beatmashing the f**k outta a drum kick, looping something, giving a shout out or Facebooking/Twittering. Thats a whole other subject though, is it rude to be on the phone while you're meant to be mixing?

120 I also thing you should get a bonus for acting like you will play a request only to go the whole night without playing it and play it as the patron is walking out/being kicked out/doors are closing 80 points

RichoKidd replied to RichoKidd's topic in Digital & Software
Nah, I've almost got it, had the Phantom turned on so for some reason it wasnt picking it up. I've now got the right channel but no left channel, but I've had issue's with the left channel on my mixer with my speakers lately too. Maybe its time for another upgrade?? -
Recording a Mix on Traktor Scratch Duo [HELP]

Its a Steinberg C1. Was trying to use Reaper but thinking that may be a little over kill.... -
YO!!!! So I'm back, its been too long since I posted but I decided to throw myself into my DJing again and decided to show my face round these parts (thanks to Cupe for telling me to come back!!). Figured I'd start with a seeking some help with something. I've decided to finally start recording some mixes but, being I have an external mixer, I can't figure out how to set it up to record all the cuts and transitions. My major issue is this, the DJM 250 doesn't have a Record Out output... I thought maybe I could use my Steinberg soundcard to record my mixes using XLR cables from my mixer into that and record via Reaper but for some reason all it's picking up is static. Any one able to advise on this? What am I doing wrong?

Saw that and freaked out a little bit. I went a little "school girl giddy" Thats pretty amazing!

Yeah, I've been real lazy with my music networking atm, but I plan to change all that this year!

Nah, jacked it off a beat tape from DatPiff that was available for free. Fell in love with it soon as I heard it, so much fun to write and record that one

After 8 month hiatus from recording new music, I am back with a fresh track recorded at the Dreamatorium (my bedroom studio) mixed by yours truly. Now this is my first experience mixing so I am seeking some constructive criticism. If you really enjoy it I'd love it if you can share it with ya facebook friends, like my page and share that too! Mad love to you and yours! - RichoKidd https://soundcloud.com/richokidd/money My page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/mcrichokidd

All good, I've taken advice from some mates and they've said Reapers the way to go. Just got the Waves Plug-in pack and a few other plug-ins will be downloaded when I get a chance next, time to start working on this music for realllll

Hey Guys, It's been a minute, I hope everyone had a fantastic holidays and got heaps of gear for Xmas! I DID! I got a few hundred dollars worth of Sound Center vouchers as I had the intention of picking up a Audio Interface. I ended up walking out with a Steinberg CI1 and an AKG Perception 220 Mic (Plus cables and a pop filter). Now my question is more of a vocal producers question then a beat producers question; Has anyone had any experience using Sequel (LE or otherwise) and if say is it any good or should I use something like Reaper? Just curious to know if the software the CI1 comes with is any good. Cheers for your replys!

So this is my mixer. If I've got the Turntable's plug into Phono Line in where would I then plug the mixer into Traktor Audio? This is where I get lost
-
Okay, I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't find it. I recently picked up a Maschine Mikro for myself and have been playing around with it, basically learning how to program drums and getting the basics down. Now I have done that I want to step into sampling. I know I can sample directly from my computer by getting a .wav of an mp3 I like (usually sourcing the sound of youtube or something) and slicing it but I was wondering if its possible to sample from vinyl directly into the Mikro (or my Macbook) using the Traktor Audio 6 I have at home? Nothing beats the sound of a vinyl crackle when sampling melodies. I want that sound! Can anyone help me out?
-
Not sure I like the size of it. Maschines are meant to be portable, although I can understand they're trying to compete with the larger MPC's with this one
-
So for those who are still following me in my attempt at a rap career, I've stepped it up a notch by dropping my first ever filmclip for a song I recorded last year called; Relapse. Here it is;

Now, I am aware this has probably been asked a few times and its a very noob move for me to ask again (did a search to no avail) Can anyone recommend me a way to record my mixes of Scratch Duo, obviously it doesn't come with the record function, I am running a Audio 4, Pionner DJM-250, 2x Stanton t62's & A Macbook 13inch Pro. I've been googling friously, again, no luck. Can anyone lay it out in laymans terms for this ghetto thug?? *cough*
