Okay guys so I have spent weeks squinting at ebay and gumtree and storedj looking and looking, changed my mind to and fro between CDJ and vinyl. I think I might have made up my mind. Im going to buy my gear bit by bit, and I going to start with some techs. Ive found a pair, but it says they dont come with Needles or Carts. Okay I think I get what a needle is okay, its the needle that makes contact with the vinyl. Duh. But whats the cart, and what effect do they both have on the style you spin with?

Hey I've just been offered a 1210 and a DJM800 really cheap, and Im a bit paranoid that they might be dodgy. I dont know the person, all I really want to know is there some way I can check the serial numbers on them both, so that I know they weren't bought of some dodgy knock of site. Has anyone seen them before? Will I know when I see it?

That looks brilliant. Okay well Im going to have to aim for Pioneer/Denon setup. I think Im going to go with vinyl. I figure as long as Im just learning and mixing at home vinyl will be fine. Would you recommend a turntable or does it depend alot on what your style is, other stuff like that?

okay I saw on some us forum just try mixing on a pc at first but I say that sucks, I want to get started as soon as I can. I've just used a bit of software to mix I had mixmeister a while ago I didnt have the cash for decks. Think Drum and bass dubstep jungle, old trance. I dont know what the different decks and stuff offer, but I was hoping to use vinyl, but cdjs seem to be easier than having hundreds of vinyls. Im looking for decks and a mixer but I dont know what Im looking for. Im looking to get second hand gear so maybe i can get a bit better gear, even if its a bit older. Im trying to get setup for about $1500 but I could stretch to 2k nice to meet you pulsebeat
