I Use something like this, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HPM-POWER-BO ... tem588ffbc you can pick them up from computer part shops cheaper than this,recyclers even cheaper This will also give you a 20amp overload instead of 10, most cheap boards when they heat up will switch overloads at 8 or 9 amps. This can be a problem if you are running lights and sound from 1 socket.

Andy - Yeh love the x-ponent, as I am new to the DJ side of things this thing makes it easy to pull off live sets. I have used CDJ's but for the cost(picked up x-ponent for $380 wif soft bag" and what im using it for ill stick wif the x-ponent for now.( most of my tunes get played thru mixmister7 on the 2nd laptop but I dare say once i get more confident with the"X" I will use it more often(outside the house). Chev - Graphic is used to tune PA for different venues, I did have a DBX driverack but i find it easier to pull out signals with the Graphic. I run a cross over for the "W"bins and a compressor on the computer to achieve what the driverack did. sol I use x-ponent for mobile dj + mix meister on 2nd laptop you don't have to use beat-match but you can, and that leaves your hands free to play with other effects. I agree that you swap to S4 if you want to play clubs, But if you only use your own gear it dont matter wot you got Its how you use it..yeh? I started late and enjoy every gig I do.. Mine is 500mm bigger each side and front than my table that way when some nob starts to lean on it they make that priceless face when it wobbles (oh shit sorry mann) and they are still half a meter away from ya decks. I made it out of 25mm PVC water pipe and fittings with a black drape held on with pins - takes about 5 mins to put up and store in a 100mm PVC tube with a screwed cap.

Hi Guys I have had same problem in old halls and spoke with a sparky, He informs me that the cheap power boards are rated at 2400w (10amps) but the cut out switch will often heat up and cause to drop out well below the rated output - his solution was as to do as you have described above split the power between circuits and use piggyback leads or a GOOD brand 15amp power board(clip-seal make a top one often found on construction sites $80-$100. Run your sound gear through a power conditioner - I use a UPS power backup (including surge protect and conditioner(also knocks out ground loop hum))$150.00 That way when the power goes out you don't have the reset problems for mixer cpu decks.
